"Come on, this has got to be a joke, right? I'm not buying it," Lilith said, rolling her eyes. "Uncle Enoch, you can't fool me with that."
How in the world could they have already gone and gotten married!
"Oberon, go fetch the marriage certificate, will you? Let Lilith have a look."
Oberon nodded and said, "Right away," and then he was off.
The living room fell into an awkward silence.
Drusilla shot Enoch a puzzled look, unsure of his intentions.
Seeing Enoch so confident, Lilith started to waver, "Did you guys actually get married?"
"Just wait and see," Enoch replied coolly.
Why would he lie about something like this?
"But Drusilla... She's done so many outrageous things. Keeping her around is just asking for trouble with Harlan. With her in the picture, there won't be a day of peace for us."
Just the fact that she was Harlan's ex was nauseating enough, let alone her being here to stir up drama!
"Don't worry, she's not interested in your man, nor will she threaten your relationship," Enoch said calmly.
Lilith glanced at Drusilla and said, "I don't believe it! You've just met her; you have no idea what she's capable of. I was fooled by her once, thinking she was a good person!"
Enoch chuckled lightly, looking at Lilith, "She's with me now, and she only has eyes for me. Not everyone treasures Harlan like you do, right, darling?" He looked at Drusilla for her input.
