Lilith had that innocent look about her, as if she hadn't been around the block even once. Drusilla could see a bit of her younger self in Lilith, like a mirror reflecting back her own naivety from the days when Harlan had her dancing to his tunes.
Hearing Drusilla's words, Harlan's expression hardened.
Was she threatening him?
Bring it on!
Clueless about the undercurrents, Lilith turned to Harlan. "Let's head in, shall we? Grandma's waiting for us."
Wasting time over someone who's basically a stranger felt utterly pointless to her.
Following Lilith's lead, Harlan walked into the house.
When Cybele caught up with the situation, she glanced at Drusilla and said, "You might as well head back home then."
"Alright."
Shortly after 6:00 PM, after having dinner at home with Verena and accompanying Colton and Cormac, Drusilla returned to the Taylor family's residence. She expected Harlan and the others to have left, but as soon as she entered the courtyard, she saw Harlan.
Seeing her return, Harlan was flabbergasted. He marched over, grabbing her arm and pulling her behind a decorative boulder. "You've lost your mind, haven't you?"
Caught off guard by his sudden aggression, Drusilla winced in pain, nearly mistaking him for some sort of mugger. She retorted, "Are you fucking insane?"
Not being physically strong, especially compared to a man, and having a low tolerance for pain, his rough handling felt like her skin was tearing apart.
