Lilith sighed, "There's nothing I can do about my uncle's antics! He's all protective over Drusilla now, especially since my great-grandfather has taken quite a liking to her."
It seems Wendell mistook Drusilla for Odette, and that's probably why Enoch has been so defensive of her!
If only Wendell knew Drusilla was an impostor and didn't rely on her so much, things would be so much easier!
...
Downstairs, as Harlan escorted his mother away, Oberon turned to Drusilla and said, “Ma’am, please go ahead with your plans. Mr. Taylor and I will be heading off now.”
“Thank you,” Drusilla glanced at Oberon, feeling a bit embarrassed remembering how much time he had spent dealing with her issues.
“It’s no trouble at all. You’re Mr. Taylor’s wife, and it’s my duty to assist you in any way possible,” Oberon reassured her.
Drusilla felt a wave of embarrassment wash over her.
After saying that, Oberon got back into the car.
Drusilla caught Enoch’s eye and gave him a friendly smile, recalling the afternoon they had spent looking at wedding dresses without feeling annoyed. Being with this man, after all, came with its rewards.
Noticing her gaze, Enoch's eyes softened considerably before he hurriedly rolled up the car window.
Humph, women, always trying to charm him! Give her a cookie, and she thinks she is entitled to the whole bakery!
...
Drusilla arrived at the daycare a bit late due to the hassle with Saskia’s issue. Most of the kids had already been picked up, leaving only Colton and Cormac. Before she even entered, she heard the teacher’s exasperated voice, “Colton, why did you dismantle my laptop?”
Colton’s response was stern, “Your laptop was broken!”
He seemed to have completely forgotten about getting hurt the night before and was back to his lively self.
