It was as if by magic.
The teacher was quite astonished herself.
Pressing the power button, Colton watched as the previously unresponsive computer whirred back to life.
The teacher approached, clicked around with the mouse, and found everything intact. Her eyes widened in amazement as she said, "My word, Colton, you actually fixed my laptop."
Colton remained cool. "You are welcome."
Drusilla wiped her forehead silently on the side. She had thought she was about to spend a fortune and endure the teacher's complaints. Yet, here was Colton, fixing the laptop like it was no big deal.
The teacher stood up, turning to Drusilla apologetically. "I'm sorry, I assumed Colton had dismantled it, not realizing he was actually trying to fix it."
She had almost pegged Colton as a mischievous tyke!
Little did she know, he had the best intentions.
Drusilla was equally surprised. "It's okay. Colton likes taking things apart at home too."
At first, it was remote controls and alarm clocks. Sometimes, she'd set her alarm for the morning, only to wake up late because he had taken it apart.
Though she scolded him, he managed to fix them again, but she never imagined he'd move on to laptops.
The teacher was thrilled. "Colton is a genius! Truly amazing. You're so lucky to have a child like him. Oh, by the way, we have an event coming up in a few days. I wanted to let you know in advance."
"What event?"
"It's a community talent show sponsored by a local business. They've invited some kids to perform, and our daycare is participating. If they do well, there might even be a prize."
Colton and Cormac had been entering all sorts of little talent contests since they were in the toddler group, winning awards was nothing new for Drusilla.
