Xavier’s dark eyes narrowed as he looked at her, not answering for a moment. Aveline laughed, “Oh, I remember now. You can’t go into the women’s restroom with Josephine, so you weren’t in there just now. That means you have no idea if I actually insulted Josephine or not. Everything you know is just hearsay, right, Mr. Beltran?”

She had indeed insulted Josephine, that was true, but it was because Josephine was being a bitch and asked for it. But why should Xavier just assume that whatever Josephine told him was the truth, and whatever she said was a lie?
