Aveline walked coldly toward the stairs, ignoring him.

Xavier asked, “Are your maternal grandparents doing okay?”

Without turning back, Aveline said coldly, “Do you really care?”

Xavier got up and followed her, blocking her at the foot of the stairs in just a few steps, looking down at her.
