But her head felt heavy, and she just wanted to fall asleep.
After that, she lost consciousness completely.
The next morning, Aveline was woken up by the sound of footsteps outside the door. She slowly opened her eyes.
Her head was still a little dizzy, but not as bad as last night.
And she was very hungry. After all, she had eaten less than a bowl of Savory Pork Rice Porridge last night, which had long since been digested.
The hospital room was quiet. She propped herself up with her hands and sat up.
She saw that the sofa opposite her had been unfolded into a bed, and Xavier was lying on it asleep, covered only by his own long coat.
The curtains were only half–drawn, and unlight streamed in, illuminating Xavier’s handsome sleeping face, his closed eyes making his eyelashes look even thicker and longer.
In the past, when Aveline and Xavier occasionally shared a bed, she would often wake up to watch his sleeping face, never able to get enough of looking at him.
But now, she just gave him a cold glance, then got out of bed to get a glass of water because her throat was so dry.
Xavier was woken by Aveline’s movements. He slowly opened his eyes, glanced at the ceiling, then turned to look at
her.
He sat up, his voice low and a little hoarse from sleep. “How are you feeling today? Still dizzy?”
As he spoke, he slipped on his shoes and went over to get her some water.
Aveline slapped Xavier’s outstretched hand away without a glance, poured herself half a glass of water, and drank it all.
Xavier smiled, not seeming to mind. When he saw she’d finished it, he asked, “Want more?”
Aveline didn’t answer him, just put the glass down.
Xavier picked up the pitcher, poured half a glass into that same cup, and drank it himself.
Aveline looked up at him coldly.
Xavier had never shared a cup, a bowl, or a pair of forks with her…
She didn’t dare to think he was disgusted with her, telling herself he was just particular about cleanliness.

Xavier met her gaze and gave a faint smile. “There’s only one glass, so we’ll have to make do. You don’t mind, do you?”
How could Aveline not mind? Anyway, there was no way she was ever using that cup again.
When the nurse or Helena arrived, she would definitely ask them to bring a new one.
Aveline couldn’t be bothered with Xavier and walked to the bathroom to wash up.
She held her forehead as she walked, because moving around still made her head a little dizzy.
Xavier reached out and touched her shoulder. She instinctively turned and shook his hand off. “What are you doing?”
Xavier didn’t seem to expect such a strong reaction. His dark eyes stared at her grimly.
“Aren’t you dizzy?”
“Did I say I was dizzy?”
“You were holding your forehead. If that’s not dizziness, what is?”
“Who says holding your forehead definitely means you’re dizzy?”
Xavier looked at Aveline with a half–smile “Fine, you’re not dizzy. But just in case you get dizzy and fall again, I’li help you over.”
Aveline said coldly, “Stay away from me.”
But as soon as she finished speaking, Xavier stepped closer, bent down, and swept her up into his arms.
Aveline hadn’t expected him to pull a move like this and yelled, “Put me down.”
She struggled hard.
Xavier’s dark eyes stared at her coldly. “If you keep struggling, I won’t be able to hold you. You’ll fall, hit your head again, and you might just become an idiot.”
“Then put me down.”
“I’ll put you down once we’re inside.”
