Aveline, however, thought it was better that Josephine hadn’t fallen. If she really had, it would have been hard for her to explain herself.

Alfred walked them all to the main gate.

Aveline caught Xavier looking at her out of the corner of her eye, but she ignored him and got into Sebastian’s car.

The cars drove out of the Morgan Estate one after another.

Aveline’s phone, in her purse, chimed with a notification. As she reached in to get it, her hand brushed against some- thing that felt like a box.

Confused, she looked into her purse and saw a cell phone box.

How did this get into her purse?

Aveline’s mind flashed, and a suspicion formed.

Her face cold, she took out her phone and looked at the message.

As expected, it was a message from Xavier, [A new phone I bought for you.]

[I know you bought one too, but keep this as a spare. You might drop it again someday.]

Aveline sneered silently, [Xavier, next time I’ll smash it in your face.]

Xavier replied quickly, [Wait until the agreement is signed before you think about murdering your dear husband for the inheritance.]

Aveline looked at the message, biting her lip, and remembered the day she saved Xavier.

Sebastian, sitting in the passenger seat, glanced at the rearview mirror but didn’t say anything.

After dropping Fiona off at her home, Sebastian then drove Aveline back to Parkview Estates.

On the way, Sebastian suddenly spoke up, asking her, “You’re planning to file for divorce in court?”

Aveline nodded. “Yes.”

“Mr. Beltran doesn’t want to get divorced?”

Aveline gave a silent, mocking laugh. “Yeah, he should be the one who wants it.

But he keeps dragging it out. Maybe the Patriarch doesn’t approve, so he has no choice but to stall.”

Sebastian was silent for a moment, then said, “If you need any help, let me know.”
