Chapter 239
Xavier’s face turned cold. He replied to Gerald, “What the hell is this?”
Gerald: “Fiona sent this to me.”
“Bro, you didn’t offer enough. Aveline’s still not satisfied.”
Xavier sat up straight, leaning forward slightly, typing on his phone with a grim look on his face.
[When you gave the agreement to Fiona, did you say something you shouldn’t have?]
Gerald was stunned.
Was it because he’d called Aveline greedy that she now wanted more?
Should he tell Xavier?
Damn it, Xavier would definitely beat him up.
Why did he have to be so impulsive and not keep his mouth shut?
When Gerald didn’t reply for a while, Xavier knew he’d guessed right. That guy Gerald had said something nasty again.
Annoyed, Xavier tossed his phone onto the coffee table, leaned back against the sofa, closed his eyes, and rubbed his
forehead.
In the afternoon, Fiona took her assistant to the local police precinct, got a definitive answer from the police, and then went to the construction site to find Aveline.
“The police still won’t file a case. They’re suggesting we settle.”
Aveline said calmly, “Then let’s sue.”
Fiona nodded, “Okay. No matter what the judge decides in the end, at least it’ll teach Benjamin a lesson.”
Aveline asked, “Has Xavier replied?”
Fiona shook her head, “Not yet.
And there’s been no word from Gerald either.”
Aveline’s face turned cold. “Tomorrow is the deadline. If Xavier refuses to part on good terms with me then, we’ll file the lawsuit.”
Fiona nodded, “Okay, I’ll prepare both lawsuits.”

Chapter 239
Fiona had to rush back to the city, so she left without having dinner.
That evening, Aveline had just showered and was blow–drying her hair when the doorbell rang.
She thought it was Jasmine, so she went and opened the door without looking through the peephole.
Outside the door stood Xavier’s tall, imposing figure, his dark eyes looking at her deeply.
Aveline’s face immediately went cold, and she quickly tried to shut the door.
But Xavier reacted quickly, blocking the door with one hand and pushing it open, forcing Aveline to step back.
Xavier walked inside.
Aveline yelled, “What are you doing? Get out.”

Xavier closed the door with one hand and walked further in, saying calmly, “Save your energy. Come here, let’s talk.”
“Talk to my lawyer.”
Aveline stood motionless in the foyer, glaring coldly at Xavier.
Xavier sat down on the sofa, unbuttoned his suit jacket, and looked at her with a cool gaze,
“If there’s anything in the agreement that needs to be changed or added, just say it.”
Seeing that he had no intention of leaving unless she talked to him, Aveline walked in, stopping a few feet away from him, her tone devoid of any emotion.
“It just needs to be changed to a divorce agreement.”
“You don’t even have to give me a single cent.”
Xavier laughed, “Not a single cent?
Aveline, after all these years with me, are you really okay with that?”
Aveline laughed too. “What, Xavier, have you always thought I was with you to get a share of your money?”
“The agreement I had Fiona send you, did you not read it? Or could you not understand it? Or did you think my sig- nature on it was fake?”
“If you had signed that divorce agreement earlier, we would have been divorced long ago. Would you need to be on edge now, worrying that I’d take half of your fortune?”
“You still have the agreement, don’t you? Just sign it.
We can make an appointment at the Registry Office tomorrow to get it done.”
