Chapter 291
Hearing that, Helena breathed a sigh of relief. “That’s good.
But if you’re not feeling well, sir, it’s still better to go to the hospital and get it checked.”
So last night it wasn’t him bullying her, it was her bullying him.
Xavier smirked. “I’ll only go to the hospital if the missus takes me.”
Helena listened and grumbled to herself, “Are you a three–year–old? You need an adult with you just to see the doctor?”
Xavier looked up at her. “But, don’t tell my wife I’m okay. If she asks you, just say I couldn’t even eat breakfast.”
Helena: “…”
Although Xavier wasn’t a three–year–old, he was pretty childish.
But Helena figured that based on Aveline’s recent behavior, she probably wouldn’t care about him, so she wouldn’t ask.
In the living room, Jasmine asked Aveline in a low voice, “Did you beat up Xavier last night?
Or did you two do something else?”
Aveline gave her a stony look.
Jasmine smiled. “I’m just kidding.
Did you really hit him?”
“Didn’t he deserve it?”
Jasmine nodded solemnly. “He did. And you should’ve done it a long time ago. Hitting him last night was too late; you let him get away with it for so long.”
“To be honest, the moment you heard Josephine call him ‘darling,‘ you should’ve slapped them both–one for Josephine, and one for Xavier.”
Aveline remained silent and indifferent.

To her, it was better for her mind and body to walk away from people who angered her rather than resorting to violence.
Besides, with her upbringing, she wasn’t the kind of person who could just slap someone without a second thought.
Slapping Josephine that day was entirely because Josephine had shamelessly asked for it, again and again. The stars aligned, and not slapping her would have been a waste of the opportunity God Almighty had given her.
Just then, the doorbell rang.
That must be Sebastian with the driver.
In the dining room, Xavier heard the doorbell and looked up in surprise, wondering who would come at this hour.
Helena quickly walked out of the dining room to get the door.
Aveline told her, “I’ll get it. It’s my friend.”
Hearing this, Xavier guessed it was probably Julian.
But instead, he heard Sebastian’s voice, and a strange man’s voice greeting Aveline.
Xavier frowned slightly, finished the rest of his milk, wiped his mouth, and got up to leave the dining room.
The driver Maria Morgan, introduced by Sebastian, was big and tall and in his thirties. He had a gentle demeanor and spoke clearly, which Aveline was quite satisfied with.
Maria had been working in the security department of Crestmark in Kralville, but his hometown was in Entora. When Sebastian asked if he was willing to be Aveline’s driver, he agreed, thinking he could return to Entora.
Aveline was talking to Maria when Sebastian saw Xavier standing at the dining room exit, staring at them. It seemed like he had been watching for a while.
So he said, “Mr. Beltran, so you’re here.”
Xavier said flatly, “This is my house. Of course I’m here.”
Sebastian gave a faint smile and said nothing more,
Aveline heard their conversation and glanced over at Xavier, only to see him leaning against a pillar, his eyes dark and faint as he watched her.
