Chapter 415
Chapter 415
288 Youbert:
Actually, what upset her about Xavier was his ambiguous relationship with Josephine. Financially, he was actually generous with her; he wouldn’t fight her over a villa like this.
It was just that while he was generous, she was too frugal. Since their engagement, she had hardly spent any of his
money.
The next afternoon, after Xavier finished discussing work with a few company executives in his office, the executives left, and Amy came in.
Xavier knew at a glance that she probably had news. He waited for the door to close and asked, “How did it go?”
Amy walked to the desk and said, “Dr. Nolan is no longer working at North City General Hospital. They said he resigned and went abroad two years ago.”
Xavier stared at her intently. Then he heard Amy continue, “Mr. Beltran, Dr. Nolan resigned a little over a month after you were discharged from the hospital. Half a month after that, his entire family emigrated.”
your “Mr. Beltran, our people at the hospital heard from a head nurse who was involved in treatment back then. The director and Joseph Nolan didn’t have the donor go to the blood center. They did the donation and testing at the hospital for your transfusion. Afterward, the director made Joseph take the fall and had her resign.”
Xavier’s expression turned cold. “Wasn’t I told my condition was critical, that because of a major accident the blood center’s supply was tight, and that’s why the hospital had Josephine donate directly to me?”
Amy replied, “The head nurse said the situation wasn’t actually that critical. According to protocol, the donor should have gone to the blood center. For some reason, the director and Joseph had the donation done directly at the hospital.”
“The director was probably worried about trouble down the road, so he had Joseph resign.”
“That director resigned too, just over two months after Joseph did. He went to a private hospital in Kralville to become the director.”
Xavier said coolly, “What a coincidence. They both resigned.”
Amy listened to the investigators’ report and thought it was a bit too coincidental.

Chapter 415
If Joseph and the director hadn’t resigned one after the other, it wouldn’t have seemed strange. Their resignations made it look like they were covering something up.
Xavier asked, “Who pressured the director back then, forcing him to violate hospital regulations for the blood donation and transfusion?”
Amy replied, “The investigators asked the head nurse why the director and Joseph broke the rules. The head nurse said she didn’t know either, but figured it was because you’re the CEO of the, so they made that decision to save you.”
“Mr. Beltran, I remember from the investigation back then, you were already in surgery when the Patriarch arrived. It couldn’t have been his request, right?”
“As for your wife, she didn’t have that kind of influence back then.
And if it was Ms. Josephine, the director probably wouldn’t have done it for her either.”
“Should we ask the Patriarch?”
Xavier lowered his gaze, tapping lightly on the desk. After a moment of thought, he looked up and asked, “Do the hospital records confirm that Josephine was the donor?”
Amy nodded. “Yes.”
Xavier’s expression hardened as he thought for another moment. “Keep investigating,” he said. “Be more thorough. Money is no object.”
“Find that doctor, Joseph, and the director.”
“Yes, Mr. Beltran.”
Amy had just opened the door to leave when she saw Leona walking over.
“Is Mr. Beltran in there?”
Amy glanced back at Xavier.
Xavier heard Leona’s voice too, and his face immediately darkened.
Leona reached the doorway, saw Xavier inside, and walked straight in.
“I have something to show you.”
