Chapter 435
The manager replied, “The room really does need to be sanitized. The police will understand.”
Josephine understood. This must be a pre–planned tactic the club used to get rid of guests. Whatever they did, when the authorities showed up, they could convince them that the private dining room was actually contaminated and needed to be sanitized.
Josephine glanced over at the’s private dining room and saw Amy standing at the entrance, looking in her direction.
Even if she went over there, Amy would stop her from going inside and causing a scene.
But she refused to believe that Xavier had given the order.
How could he humiliate her like this? How could he be so cruel to her?
She had saved his life, after all.
Besides, he had been so good to her for the past two years. It wasn’t just because she’d saved his life; he must have feelings for her, maybe even romantic ones.
Wasn’t he going to divorce Aveline?
Could it be that even if Xavier divorces Aveline, he won’t be with her?
Because she’s the daughter of a mistress?
At that thought, Josephine’s heart clenched. She gritted her teeth and balled her hands into fists.
Jacob, Eileen, and Vincent walked out, and Jacob said:
“Josie, since this is what Mr. Beltran wants, maybe we should just go?”
Josephine, however, pointed at Amy and ordered, “You, come here.”
Amy hesitated for a moment, worried Josephine would come over and disturb the dinner in the private dining room, so she walked over.
But her expression was indifferent. She didn’t speak, just waited for Josephine to talk.
With a dark expression, Josephine asked, “The manager said Mr. Beltran told me to leave. Tell

me, was it Mr. Beltran’s idea, or Aveline’s?”
Amy replied in a flat tone, “I heard from the manager that the private dining room needs to be disinfected.”
The manager quickly chimed in, “Yes, yes, I told her, but Ms. Sutton just won’t believe me.”
Josephine gritted her teeth. “I don’t believe Xav would be so heartless. It must have been Aveline’s idea.”
“I’m going to ask Xav.”
As she spoke, she started walking toward the private dining room.
Amy looked at Jacob indifferently. “Mr. Sutton, the elders are inside. If Josephine barges in like this, can the Sutton family handle the consequences?”
It was a blatant threat. Jacob quickly grabbed Josephine. “Josie, don’t do this. Rupert is in there.”
“Even if it was Aveline’s idea, you can’t make a scene in front of Rupert.”
Vincent said, “Mr. Beltran has always been good to Josie. How could he kick her out?”
“Josie, give Mr. Beltran a call and ask.”
He had no idea that Xavier had already blocked Josephine’s WhatsApp and phone number.
Eileen didn’t know either and agreed with her brother.
In fact, Jacob didn’t know either, so he said, “Right, right, don’t barge into the private dining room. Call him first and ask.”
Although Josephine was furious, she knew that if she really barged into the private dining room and disturbed Rupert, no matter how well Xavier treated her, he wouldn’t be pleased.
Aveline must have known this, which is why she dared to have the manager kick her out.
So Josephine said to Amy, “You call Mr. Beltran. I want to talk to him and ask what’s going on.
“If this wasn’t Mr. Beltran’s idea, you can fucking wait to be fired.
Josephine was so humiliated and angry that she started cursing.
Amy gave Josephine a deep look and said flatly, “Mr. Beltran made a call to the Heiress, and then he said something to me. Would Ms. Josephine like to hear it?”
