Chapter 496
Aveline ignored him and put down her phone.
Helena brought her food over. Aveline said, “Thank you,” and picked up her fork, ready to eat.
Just then, Jasmine said, “Josephine and Dylan are here. Why is she still around? Didn’t a tycoon buy her a villa? Why isn’t she filming?”
Aveline didn’t even glance at her, saying coolly, “Well, she has money to burn. She can film whenever she wants and take a vacation whenever she wants.
་་
Jasmine huffed, “Coming all the way to Mount Ardwood, she’s just here to annoy you.”
Josephine and Dylan got their food and walked over to Aveline’s table. The table right behind Aveline happened to be empty.
But she stopped beside Aveline’s table, looked at her with a slight smile, and said, “Sister, it’s a shame my villa at Sunset Hills Villas isn’t next to yours. Otherwise, we could have been neighbors and visited each other often.”
Aveline didn’t look at her, pretending not to hear, and just ate her food.
Seeing this, Josephine couldn’t stand Aveline’s high–and–mighty attitude of ignoring her, and added:
“Sigh, I just wanted to rent a villa for filming, but I never expected him to spend hundreds of millions to buy it for me. I’m so flattered.”
Aveline finally looked up at her and said coolly, “Being the other woman makes it easy to feel flattered. You probably grew up watching your mom feel flattered all the time, so now that you’re grown up, you’re chasing that same feeling.”
“I spend my own family’s money openly and honestly, so I never feel ‘flattered.‘ I don’t know what kind of shady business that is.”
The
smug
smile on Josephine’s face froze. She stared at Aveline, speechless for a moment.
Dylan glared at Aveline angrily, “Aveline, you…”
Just then, Jasmine cut him off, “Dylan, be more respectful to the lead architect.”

Simon happened to walk over with his tray of food and heard this. He sighed inwardly, thinking that this Dylan, whom Mr. Beltran had forced on them, really didn’t get along with Aveline and
Jasmine.
He quickly said, “What a coincidence, everyone’s here for the buffet tonight.”
Aveline greeted him, “Mr. Barron, there’s an empty seat. Come join us.
“Sure.”
With that, Simon sat down in the seat next to Julian.
Dylan looked at Simon guiltily, said a quick hello, and then quickly pulled Josephine away.
After the two of them sat down, Josephine whispered, “What are you so nervous about? Look at Simon, he looks like nothing’s wrong. He definitely didn’t find out you touched his computer.”
Back at Aveline’s table, Simon said to her, “Aveline, your foot is injured. There’s no rush with the concept drawings. Take your time and let it heal first.”
Actually, it was Xavier who had told him not to rush Aveline and to let her heal first.
Aveline smiled slightly and replied to Simon, “It’s just a foot injury, it won’t affect my work.”
“But there are some parts I still need to polish. I’ve got some new ideas.”
Simon was only happy to hear this, because every time Aveline said she had new ideas, the design plan got even better, so he was very much looking forward to it.
Josephine and Dylan, sitting at the table behind her, also heard what Aveline said.
Josephine looked at Dylan with a serious face and whispered, “Cousin, what if it’s different?”
Dylan shook his head and also whispered, “It’s impossible for her to make major changes.”
He was just afraid that Aveline’s final draft would be even better than the one he had plagiarized.
