Aveline said coldly, “Mr. Beltran, I don’t understand what you mean.”
“I’m the lead architect. I only do my job seriously. I don’t throw tantrums.”
Xavier glanced at Jasmine. “You and Julian, get out.‘
Jasmine looked at Aveline hesitantly.
Aveline said, “Jasmine and Julian are members of our studio, my colleagues. They also want to hear what complaints Mr. Beltran has about our studio.”
Xavier’s dark eyes narrowed. “You’re the lead architect. I’ll only communicate with you.”
Aveline replied, “The three of us in the studio are a team.”
Xavier let out an exasperated laugh. “You and I are husband and wife. We’re the team.”
Aveline’s face turned cold. “Mr. Beltran, we’re talking about work, aren’t we?”
Xavier pointed at his phone. “The messages you sent were clearly personal.”
“My concept art was plagiarized. I’m making a reasonable guess about the source of the leak. How is that being personal?”
“Mr. Beltran, do I need to remind you about your relationship with Josephine?”
Xavier said coldly, “She and I don’t have the kind of relationship you’re imagining.”
Aveline’s lips curled into a sneer, but she said nothing.
Xavier felt a sense of powerlessness against her,
He asked, “What do you want me to do about Dylan?
If kicking him off the project team isn’t enough, what do you want?”
Aveline said coolly, “What can be done? I guess I just have to accept my bad luck. I have no way of finding out how my concept art was leaked anyway.”
“I can’t exactly take your computer and phone, Mr. Beltran, to check if you sent it to someone.”

“Besides, the person who leaked it wouldn’t be stupid enough to send it from their own computer or phone.”
Xavier gave a helpless smile. “Aveline, you’ve said it all.”
Aveline said flatly, “You have nothing to say, and that’s my fault?”
Just then, Amy’s voice came from outside. “Mr. Beltran, the technician is here.”
Xavier gave Aveline a long look, turned to leave, but stopped. He turned back and said to Aveline:
“Don’t jump to conclusions. I’m working on it, but there are no cameras in the conference room, so there’s no proof he touched Simon’s computer.”
“So, with no other options, I can only kick him off the project team for being incompetent.”
Aveline said coolly, “Yeah, for someone so incompetent, I wonder how he got on the project team in the first place.”
Xavier was speechless.
Aveline used to be so docile; he had no idea her words could be so cutting.
“Fine, my mistake.”

With that, he turned and left.
Julian and Jasmine exchanged a look. Jasmine was holding back a laugh.
Outside the room, Xavier saw Amy, Simon, Rebecca, and two technicians from the in the hallway and said,
“Simon, Rebecca, take them to check the computers and phones of everyone here. Start with Dylan’s, and then yours.”
Simon was instantly embarrassed, but he asked, “Mr. Beltran, should we check the construction crew’s devices too?”
Xavier replied, “They’ve already checked their own. No need.”
If he had the technicians check Aveline’s computer, she would just start another fight with him, and who knows what else she’d say to piss him off.
She’s so sharp–tongued now.
