Gerald had mixed feelings, but he didn’t show it, smiling as he told Josephine, “Looks like the guy realized he’s been too hard on you lately and has thought it over.”
Josephine was overjoyed, feeling sweet as honey, not even considering if what Gerald said was right, just smiling and nodding.
She felt she had Xavier wrapped around her finger. He had been so good to her, obviously liked her, so how could he suddenly stop treating her well? There had to be a reason.
It was probably related to Aveline or Rupert. Xavier was deliberately distancing himself from her, being cold as a strategy.
Maybe the situation had changed, or maybe Xavier missed her, so he had Gerald ask her to go to the Velvet Club tonight.
It seemed everything was going back to normal.
Josephine felt smug, and her dinner tasted especially delicious.
She didn’t forget to text her mom the news.
Courtney was suspicious and asked: [He just had Gerald bring you to see him, he didn’t say anything else?]
Josephine replied: [He didn’t say anything else.]
[Mom, Xav must want to see me. He misses me.]
No matter how smart Courtney was, she couldn’t figure out what Xavier imeant by this.
Perhaps Xavier would tell Josephine tonight why he had suddenly been so cold to her.
[Then you
should
See what Xavier has to say to you.]
The black Bentley pulled into the courtyard of the Beltran’s mansion. As soon as Xavier got out of the car, the manager of The Chu’s Hotel at Six Peaks Mountain called.
“Mr. Beltran, I had security escort Dylan out of the hotel on the grounds that he was rude to a guest.”

Chapter 529
The manager politely used the word “escort,” but Dylan was actually dragged out.

Luckily, Dylan still had some sense of shame and didn’t dare make a scene in the hotel lobby.
Xavier said coolly, “Blacklist him. He’s not allowed to set foot in the hotel again.”
“Yes, Mr. Beltran.”
Xavier hung up and walked into the house, where he saw Rupert, Lauren, Brielle and her daughter, and Leona and her son, all in the living room.
When they saw him, Valentina and Mason ran over to him, calling him “Uncle.”
Xavier picked up Valentina and patted Mason’s head, wondering to himself if the boy wasn’t afraid of him anymore because he had grown up.
Xavier saw Leona looking at him with a scrutinizing, and seemingly resentful, gaze, but he ignored her.
Rupert stood up. “Xavier’s back. Let’s eat.”
Xavier, holding Valentina and with Mason’s hand in his, went straight into the dining room, and the two children sat on either side of him.
Lauren saw this and remarked with emotion, “Xavier, look how much Valentina and Mason like you. If you had a child, you’d definitely be a good father.
“1
Xavier’s expression was indifferent; he knew his mother was pushing him to have kids, so he ignored her.
Hearing this, Mason’s heart skipped a beat. He thought that if his uncle had his own child, he might not dote on him and Valentina anymore.
He quickly said, “Uncle is a good uncle, not a good dad.”
All the adults in the dining room were stunned.
Lauren’s face hardened. “Mason, what nonsense are you talking about? Your uncle is a good uncle, and a good dad too.”
Leona was displeased. “Mom, he’s just a kid. Why are you taking him so seriously?
Besides, Xavier doesn’t even have kids yet. Who knows if he’ll be a good dad.”
“And who knows when Xavier will even have kids.”
