Sebastian said bluntly, “I know of Dylan, but we’ve already chosen an architect for that project. We’re about to sign

the contract.”

Since he didn’t know what Dylan’s relationship with Xavier was, Sebastian didn’t plan on saying that he didn’t think much of Dylan at all.

Dylan’s skill level was only good enough to get by on projects for small and medium–sized enterprises.

Xavier nodded nonchalantly. “In that case, forget it. You can keep the card, Mr. Harmon. Maybe you’ll find a use for it someday.”

Sebastian just smiled.

After all, he was a professional. He knew Dylan had no talent and would never use him.

But he was quite curious. “Mr. Beltran, is the giving a project to Dylan?”

Xavier said flatly, “Nothing’s been decided yet.”

Sebastian was even more confused. “The Beltran Group doesn’t have any projects up for bidding. How would you know Dylan, Mr. Beltran?”

The Beltran Group is full of elites like Simon. They couldn’t possibly fail to see that Dylan doesn’t have what it takes, so how could he have caught Xavier’s attention?

Xavier said, “He’s Aveline’s cousin.”

Sebastian looked at him. “Introduced by Ms. Sutton?”

With Aveline’s standards, she would never introduce Dylan to Xavier. Besides, she’s divorcing Xavier, and they can’t even be civil to each other when they meet now.

Xavier took a sip of water and said flatly, “Josephine introduced him.”

As soon as he heard Josephine’s name, Sebastian knew he couldn’t ask any more questions, because Xavier was actu- ally recommending someone for Josephine’s sake, not Aveline’s.

He changed the subject. “Mr. Beltran, care to have dinner together?”

Xavier shook his head. “No, maybe next time. I’ve already booked a flight back to Entora and have to get to the air- port now.”

After saying that, Xavier said his goodbyes to Sebastian and left.

Sebastian thought the whole thing was ridiculous and couldn’t help but text Fiona about it.

Chapter 54

When Fiona saw it was about someone with the last name Sanders, she immediately got angry. [Xavier is so shame- less. How is Dylan Aveline’s cousin? Aveline doesn’t even have a cousin. That Sanders guy must be Josephine’s cousin.]

[I’m going to tell Aveline.]

Sebastian replied, [Don’t cause trouble.]

Fiona: [Xavier told Gerald to redraft the agreement. I don’t know if he’s just stalling, trying not to get divorced. I’m worried Aveline will have a moment of weakness and change her mind. She has to know what Xavier has been doing behind her back.]

Sebastian: [Do whatever you want.]

Aveline was discussing the details of a design plan with Jasmine and Julian. When her phone buzzed with a notifica- tion, she didn’t look at it right away. She only picked it up after the discussion was over.

Fiona: [My brother just told me that Xavier actually recommended Dylan for Josephine, trying to get the landscape design project for The Mountainous Resort. I’m so pissed.]

Aveline froze for a moment, then she laughed.

Xavier was even willing to give Josephine’s cousin the project for the Mount Ardwood theme park, so of course he wouldn’t hesitate to ask Sebastian for a favor.

[Did Mr. Harmon tell him the project was given to me?]

Fiona: [No, my brother just said they’ve already chosen an architect.]

[The most infuriating part is when my brother asked him how he knew Dylan, he had the nerve to say he’s your cousin.]

When Aveline saw that message, her face immediately darkened.

Xavier’s logic was that because Courtney had married into the Sutton family and become her stepmother, Courtney’s nephew was therefore her cousin.
