Chapter 580
Sebastian took a sip of his drink and said, “Mr. Beltran, just let off some steam. Don’t go too far.”
Xavier put his phone back in his pocket, his gaze cool as he looked at Sebastian. “Why don’t you kick him out?”
Sebastian smiled. “Even though John is unreliable, the Vance Group isn’t going to collapse that quickly. Forget me, even you have to give him some face, right?”
Xavier scoffed, “You think he cares about something like face?”
Josephine and Patricia returned to John’s side. It was obvious John was unhappy, his gaze dark as he looked at her.
The date he brought was throwing herself at another man. It was normal for him to be upset, but Josephine didn’t care.
He was just a tool she had used. She was already inside the party; she didn’t need to suck up to him anymore.
Someone nearby deliberately stirred the pot. “Steven, Mr. Vance isn’t happy. You should probably cheer him up.”
Josephine sat down next to John and said lightly, “And what is Mr. Vance unhappy about?”
The people around them laughed, enjoying the show. They thought, this woman really has some nerve, asking why Mr. Vance is unhappy.
John glanced at Josephine’s stunning face and smiled too. “Josie, tell me, what did Mr. Beltran do to upset you so much that you had to go hug him?”
As he spoke, he suddenly reached out and pulled Josephine towards him.
Josephine was startled and quickly pushed him away. “Mr. Vance, please have some self–respect.”
John laughed loudly. “I thought Ms. Sutton liked to hug people.”
Hearing this, the others also burst into laughter.
Patricia said with a smile, “Mr. Vance, Ms. Sutton was just saying goodbye to Mr. Beltran.”

Chapter 580
“Goodbye?
So Ms. Sutton’s way of saying goodbye is to hug someone from behind.”
The people around them laughed again.

Josephine realized it then. These rich and powerful people were treating her like a clown for their
amusement.
She said coldly, “You only dare to laugh in front of me. Would you dare to laugh in front of Xavier?”
Then she glared at John. “Mr. Vance, where did we first meet?
It was at Mr. Jenkins‘ birthday party, wasn’t it? We met when my Xav brought me to celebrate Mr. Jenkins‘ birthday, right?”
“Some of you were there at the time, weren’t you?”
“Who do you think I am to Xavier, that you dare to laugh at me?”
Those few people, including John and Patricia, stopped smiling.
They really weren’t sure what kind of relationship Josephine and Xavier had. If she was really his woman, Xavier might come after them.
Patricia said, “Oh, Ms. Sutton, we were all just joking around. We didn’t mean any harm, don’t overthink it.”
John poured Josephine a drink. “Have a drink, have a drink. Don’t be angry. It was my fault, I took the joke a little too far.‘
“I’ll drink three glasses as punishment.”
After saying that, he actually downed three glasses of whiskey.
Seeing that they were genuinely scared when she brought up Xavier, Josephine breathed a sigh of relief.
Xavier really was someone nobody dared to cross in the Twin Cities.
No wonder her mother had told her back then that if she ever caught Xavier’s eye, it would be a Cinderella story.
And Xavier had indeed been very good to her these past two years, protecting her, and she had enjoyed all the glory that came with it.
