Aveline stayed silent, ignoring him and taking a sip of her drink.

Xavier frowned as he watched her, thinking she’d had a bit too much to drink and debating whether to take her glass, but he was afraid she’d get mad.

Fiona laughed. “What does this have to do with Aveline? Heh, if Josephine makes a fool of herself, Aveline will only be happy. Why would she be sad?”

Weren’t you two inseparable before?”

Xavier turned to him, his gaze cold. “There must be something wrong with your eyes, Harmon.”

Xavier’s chest tightened and his face grew colder as he silently cursed the mother–daughter pair, Josephine and Courtney.

He said, “If you don’t understand what’s going on, Mr. Harmon, then don’t guess, don’t make things up, and don’t spread nonsense.”

Sebastian said calmly, “Whoever you hired to take those pictures is really good.”

Xavier ignored him.

Sebastian glanced at his expression and smiled. “Let’s not talk about things that make you angry. Let’s talk about the project.”

As they were discussing the project, Sebastian’s phone rang. It was his assistant.

“Excuse me, Mr. Beltran, I have to take this.”
