Chapter 611
Josephine said with a grim face, “Mom, Fiona’s assistant said Eily and I were arguing in the local police precinct parking lot, and she heard Eily say I told her to trip Aveline.”
Courtney was shocked. “When did this happen? Are you and Eileen crazy? Why would you talk about that in the police precinct parking lot?”
Josephine shot Eileen a harsh glare, blaming her.
Eileen quickly said, “It was the day we argued with Aveline and Fiona at the restaurant entrance, when Aveline called the police and got my brother detained for a few days.”
“You can’t blame me for this. Josie wouldn’t help my brother, and he got detained. I had to bring up that she told me to trip Aveline. I had to save my brother, can you blame me?”
Hearing this, Vincent quickly chimed in, “Yeah, Eileen’s not wrong.”
Devin also said with a grim face, “It’s true that Josie told Eileen to do it. Eileen wasn’t lying.”
Josephine pointed at the family angrily, “Eileen took my money, didn’t she?”
Courtney said with a cold expression, “Don’t make it sound like it’s all Josie’s fault. If this gets out. Eileen will go to jail too.”
Eileen tsked, “Aunt Courtney, I only mentioned this to Josie privately in the local police precinct parking lot. That day in the restaurant parking lot, Josie admitted right to Aveline’s and Fiona’s faces that she was behind it, thinking Aveline had no proof.”
Courtney really didn’t know about this. She was stunned, then glared at Josephine. “Are you insane?”
Josephine pressed her lips together, defiant. “They don’t have any proof anyway.”
“Use your brain. What if Aveline was recording?”
“She didn’t know I’d dare to admit it to her face. Why would she be prepared to record?”
Courtney was so angry she grabbed a throw pillow and threw it at Josephine. “You still dare to
talk back.”
Josephine dodged the pillow and didn’t dare to speak again.

Chapter 611
Eileen looked smug, a sneer playing on her lips.

Courtney saw it and said sharply, “What are you smiling about? Your whole family depends on your uncle. If something happens with Josie, shouldn’t you be helping her?”
Devin was unhappy. “We did help Josie. But did she help us?
The three of us in our family were all locked in a detention center for days because of her.”
“If Eileen is sentenced to jail for this case, Josie must go to jail with her.‘

Josephine jumped in fright. “Uncle, what nonsense are you talking about? What does it have to do with me?”
“You told Eileen to do it.”
Courtney said sternly, “That’s enough! Aveline wasn’t even hurt, and our own family is already fighting.”
“Don’t worry. The surveillance footage doesn’t show Eileen tripping Aveline, and Fiona’s assistant has no proof. Eileen won’t be found guilty.”
Vincent snorted, “It better be that way. Otherwise, we all go down together.”
Hearing that, Courtney gave him a dark look.
Josephine was terrified too. After Devin Sutton’s family left, she grabbed her mother’s hand, “Mom, it’s going to be okay, right?”
“What if Aveline really has evidence? Why else would she be so bold as to sue?”
Courtney was a little uneasy herself, but she knew Josephine was prone to panic. Fearing she’d get too scared and do something rash, she comforted her,
“Aveline can’t have any evidence. She’s just taking a long shot, just like when I sued her for splashing water on me, trying to make me miscarry.”
“The next hearing is in a few days. Why don’t you go to The Croft Tower tomorrow and find Xavier? Make a scene, see if he’ll reverse his decision to replace the director.”
Josephine nodded thoughtfully, “Okay.”
