Aveline nodded, “I’ll let her stay here for one night. If Jacob doesn’t come to pick her up tomorrow. I’ll call the police. After all, she has two sons. Supporting her isn’t my responsibility as her granddaughter right now.”
Gloria didn’t know Aveline was planning to call the police. She walked to the balcony and called Jacob.
This time, Jacob wasn’t worried it was Aveline calling, so he answered, “Hello.”
“Jacob, Aveline said she’s going to sue you and send you to jail…”
Jacob heard this and knew Aveline had threatened the old woman, and that she was scared. So he cut her off.
“Mom, don’t be scared. Hiring a lawyer and filing a lawsuit isn’t that easy. It takes a long time. By the time she sues, I’ll come get you, and the case won’t even hold
“You tell Aveline, if she dares to sue her own father, she’ll be damned to hell.”
“You just stay there and relax. Eat well, sleep well, have fun. Once I get the project, I’ll come get
you.”
Gloria heard this and felt relieved, “Okay, that’s good.
Jacob, do you think Aveline will let me stay in the presidential suite?”
Jacob: “…Mom, Aveline doesn’t even stay in the presidential suite herself. How could she possibly let you stay in one?”
“Even a regular room at the Beltran Hotel is very comfortable. You can stay there without worry.”
“Remember what Courtney told you when you were at home.”
Gloria nodded, “I know, I know.”
“Good. I’m hanging up now.”
With her son’s words, Gloria wasn’t worried at all anymore and returned to her seat with a
swagger.

Chapter 627
Aveline took one look and knew Jacob had reassured her. She snorted coldly in her mind.

Aveline didn’t say anything, but Jasmine wanted to tease the old woman, saying, “Grandma, what did your son say? Is he really not afraid of Aveline suing him?”
Gloria snorted and glanced at Aveline, “If she dares to sue her own father, she’ll be damned to hell.”
Aveline said coolly, “Your son cheated during his marriage, had an illegitimate daughter, and abandoned you, his old mother. That’s what’s truly damnable.”
Gloria said with a stern face, “Your mother couldn’t produce a son, so you’re saying my son wasn’t allowed to find a common–law wife to have one?”
Aveline let out a short laugh, “We have monogamy now. What common–law wife? That’s the other woman.”
“Grandma, have you ever checked if the child Courtney had is even your son’s?
A woman like Courtney with no moral compass, aren’t you afraid she has other men besides your son? What if the baby she’s carrying isn’t Jacob’s?”
“You know this too. Jacob went to the hospital for a check–up. The doctor said he has low sperm motility and poor sperm quality. It’s hard to conceive, and even if they do, it’s hard to carry to
term.”
Jasmine and Julian didn’t expect Aveline to be so brazen, saying that right in front of them; they just looked at each other.
Gloria froze at first, then felt embarrassed. “What nonsense are you talking about? That’s not true”
Then she said to Jasmine and Julian, “Don’t listen to her nonsense. My son is in perfect health, he could have a dozen sons, no problem. It was her mother who was too weak to bear a son.
“Aveline, your stepmother got pregnant as soon as she moved in. We’ve had it checked, it’s a boy, and the doctor said he’s very healthy.”
Aveline said coolly, “Then what about the one she miscarried before?”
Gloria was speechless.
She glared at Aveline, said nothing more, and picked up her fork to eat.
Aveline’s lips curled into a sneer.
