His indifference was painfully obvious.

Luna’s mood, once bubbling with excitement, instantly plummeted. “Alden, you didn’t even look,” she said, her voice trembling.

That finally pulled a smile from her lips, the tears drying before they could fall. “Really? Then how about this one? I think it makes me look a little nicer than the one I’m wearing now.”

Alden gave it a casual glance and then froze.

That white dress… He had picked it up while traveling on a business trip. He’d bought two identical ones–one for Luna and one for Kaia. At the time, he thought–Luna would look stunning in it, so he’d grabbed an extra.

Kaia wore hers often, and the people in their social circle hadn’t missed it. She’d been ridiculed countless times for “copying Luna’s style“.

Alden rubbed the bridge of his nose, clearly uncomfortable. “Maybe try something else. That one’s kind of old now. The one you’re wearing looks better.”

Luna frowned, suspicious. “Old? But Alden, I never wore it. It’s still brand new. I was saving it for a special occasion.”

“Enough,” Alden suddenly snapped, irritation flashing in his eyes. “Don’t wear that one. It’s not flattering. It’s from years ago. Just wear the one you already have on.”

Joanne had insisted on tagging along, making a whole event out of it. “Alden, Luna, I’ll record everything for you,” she said cheerfully, phone already in hand.

When Luna finally held the marriage license in her hands, she felt a wave of relief wash over her. It was real now.

The same staff member who had handled Lucien’s paperwork last time was already waiting when they arrived, clearly informed that the heir to Graves Group was coming. He was hoping for a generous tip, just like last time.

Not only him—even the cleaning lady from before was lurking nearby, anxious to beat the crowd and claim a gift for herself.

Luna stood shyly at the oath platform. “Alden, let’s say the vows together, okay?”

“Alright, we’re done filming. Take a look. Do you like it?” the staff member asked eagerly, hopeful for a tip.

Joanne gave a polite but restrained smile. “It’s okay, I suppose. Thank you.”

She turned away without another word and headed back to join Alden and Luna.

Joanne frowned. “Take Alden with you. Good thing you

remembered in time. Don’t lose it now.”

Alden shoved one hand into his pocket, his patience already wearing thin. “Let’s go. Come on, Luna, what’s with you today? You keep forgetting things.”

Luna felt a pang of frustration but didn’t argue. The two of them walked back toward the hall.

Inside, the staff hadn’t even noticed their return.

“Hey,” one whispered, “did Mr. Alden Graves hand out any gifts today?”

“Nope. Honestly, just because their last name is Graves doesn’t mean they’re all like Mr. Lucien Graves.”

Someone else perked up. “Are you sure? Not a single gift?”
