“You fainted. Low blood sugar and anemia. Nothing serious,” Alden replied, seated beside her. “You’ll stay overnight for observation, then go home tomorrow.”

She reached out, fingers lightly tracing the warm center of his palm.

“Alden, are you really not coming with me?”
