Chapter 83 Drugged

Once I’m pregnant with Lucien’s baby, you’ll be history.
After everyone left, Lauren turned viciously on the woman beside her.
“Kimberly, don’t you dare cause me any more trouble. I don’t care about Sally’s feelings—I won’t cover for you again!”
Kimberly wanted to lash out but didn’t dare. “I got it, Lauren.”

Kaia wasn’t particularly interested in why Kimberly had come. She ate her pastries with delicate little bites, utterly unaware of the cream gathered at the corner of her mouth as she savored each morsel.
Lucien’s gaze burned with intensity as he stared at her rosy lips, his eyes dark with unreadable emotions.
She seemed to sense his unusual stare. “What’s wrong? Do I have something on my face?”
Without warning, Lucien’s dry, cool thumb brushed across the corner of her lips, and then he brought it to his tongue for a
taste. “You had some cream. It’s sweet.”
Kaia’s cheeks instantly flamed red.
Chapter 83 Drugged
Landon watched Lucien and Kaia’s intimate moment from across the room and couldn’t stand to look anymore.
Wiley asked curiously, “Does his dad know about this?”
“Who knows?” Landon shrugged.
“Ha, so he’s actually serious about her?”
Landon thought for a moment. “Looks like it.”
They’d never seen Lucien act like this before. If they believed in supernatural stuff, they’d swear someone had possessed him!
“Well, this should be entertaining to watch!”
Landon nodded. This might turn into one hell of a show!
Neither of them noticed the waiter who had just hurried past their table.
“Would you like some juice, sir?”
Lucien glanced at the tray in the waiter’s hands and nodded slightly.
The waiter placed two glasses of orange juice on their table, setting one in front of Kaia first, then slowly positioning the other in front of Lucien.

“Please enjoy,” the waiter said politely.
Lucien narrowed his eyes, studying the waiter for a moment longer than necessary. He then picked up his orange juice and took a large gulp.
Kaia watched him drink with obvious satisfaction. “Is it that good?”
A slight smile tugged at Lucien’s lips. “Not bad.”
Before long, Lucien’s cheeks began to flush pink. He stood up abruptly. “I need to use the restroom.”
Kaia wondered why his face turned red when he’d clearly been drinking orange juice.
Kimberly glanced down at her phone, her heart racing excitedly as she read the text message. It worked! She pulled the hotel room key from her purse with sweaty palms and headed straight for the second floor.
The first floor housed the banquet hall, while the second floor had several private rooms for guests to rest.
All she had to do now was wait quietly inside. Soon enough, someone would escort the drugged Lucien right to her room, and then she could do whatever she wanted with him.

Kaia glanced at her watch curiously. Twenty minutes had passed, and Lucien still hadn’t returned.

She pulled out a tissue to wipe her mouth, then asked the waiter for directions to the restroom before heading off to find him. His face had looked pale earlier, and she worried something might be wrong.
Before reaching the restroom, she spotted him leaning against the wall, trying to steady himself. “Lucien, are you okay?”
His voice came out low and strained, barely controlled. “I’m fine.”
Kaia’s concern deepened at his appearance.
“Do you need help getting back to the table?” She could see he was barely staying upright.
“No.” Lucien’s refusal was sharp and cold.
Something was clearly very wrong. Kaia reached up to check his forehead and gasped at the heat radiating from his skin. “Lucien, you’re burning up! You have a fever!”
Worry creased her features. “I’m taking you to the hospital right now!”
“No,” Lucien said, his suit jacket draped over his arm, his face flushed an unnatural red. “There’s a restroom upstairs. Just

help me sit down for a minute.”
Without questioning him further, Kain helped him into the elevator. She didn’t stop to wonder how he had a room key or why he refused medical attention.
She struggled to support his weight as they reached the bed. He was much heavier than she’d expected. Kaia lost her footing and stumbled, sending them both tumbling onto the mattress.
Their bodies pressed together without any barrier between them. Kaia winced slightly and tried to push herself up, only to find herself staring into eyes dark with unmistakable desire.
Kaia’s heart skipped a beat.
