Chapter 126
Teresa looked at Andrew’s angry face and replied with a hint of indifference, “I can’t control anyone’s life, and that includes you.”
With that, she walked around Andrew and headed out of the main hall.
Andrew watched her go, feeling a wave of confusion at her sudden boldness.
He didn’t expect the woman who used to follow the Logan Family’s every command to now dare to talk back to him.
THE
Andrew’s anger only grew the more he thought about it. As Teresa was about to walk out, he instinctively stuck out his foot, trying to trip her.

Teresa didn’t catch Andrew’s sneaky move and went tumbling forward.
There was a staircase just outside the hall. She staggered a couple of steps and went straight down, her right arm scraping hard against the cobblestone ground.

Teresa curled up, clutching her arm, her brows knitted tight, pain written all over her face.
Meanwhile, the culprit stood at the top of the stairs, towering over her like a king surveying his domain.

Roselyn strode out of the hall and took her place beside Andrew, dressed the nines and looking every bit the lady of the house. She glanced down at Teresa sprawled on the ground, her gaze dripping with contempt and scorn.

“Teresa, you’d better get this through your head,” Roselyn said coldly. “In the Logan Family, you’ll always be nothing but a groveling
servant.
“You don’t even deserve to look Andrew in the eye, let alone talk back to him. Take a good look at yourself this is what happens when you forget your place.”
With a sneer, Roselyn gave Teresa’s book a hard kick, sending it tumbling down the steps. The book landed at Teresa’s feet, now smeared with dirt.
Andrew slung his arm around Roselyn’s shoulders, sneering, “Mom, why bother getting worked up over someone like her? She’s just a mutt in the Logan Family.”
Roselyn stroked her son’s hand and scoffed, “That’s right. If she weren’t carrying Charles’s baby, she wouldn’t even qualify to be the help around here.”
The two of them laughed out loud, not caring who heard them.
Teresa lay on the ground, her arm scraped and raw, but the physical pain was nothing compared to the sting of Andrew and Roselyn’s words.
For years, Teresa had worked tirelessly, always respectful to Roselyn, and out of respect for her, treated Andrew as if he were her own brother.
Whatever Andrew liked to eat, Teresa would go out of her way to make it for him.
Even if it was a dish she’d never made before, she’d quietly seek out the chef to learn how to make it.
But in their eyes, Teresa was nothing more than a servant in the Logan Family, not even worth as much as the maids.
Teresa might have been called Charles’s wife, but in this house, she was treated no better than the maid. Teresa used to put up with it without complaint, but those days were over.
Teresa pushed herself up, wincing as she moved her arm. Once she was sure it wasn’t broken, she picked up the book that had fallen at her feet. It was her study guide for the graduate school entrance exam.
She dusted off the dirt and carefully tucked it away.
From her spot on the ground, Teresa looked up at Roselyn and Andrew towering above her on the steps, acting all high and mighty. She couldn’t help but let out a laugh.
Her laughter was mocking, sarcastic, and utterly dismissive

Chapter 126
Roselyn’s expression soured as soon as she heard Teresa laughing. “What are you laughing at?” she barked.
Teresa straightened up, her back stiff and proud, staring Roselyn down. “Your two so–called pride and joy? One can’t keep it in his pants, and the other’s got nothing between his ears.
“Yet you still act like they’re your crowning achievement. No matter how amazing you think they are, Roselyn, from now on, I won’t ever look up to them again.”
Teresa shot Andrew a cold glare. “Only cowards hit women. What kind of man are you?”
That offhand remark was all it took; Andrew totally lost it.
“Teresa, you actually dare to talk to me like that? You must have a death wish,” Andrew yelled, his face flushed with rage. He absolutely couldn’t stand anyone calling him less than a man.
He could let it slide if it were anyone else, but not Teresa. She was just the help–she had no business talking to him that way.
Teresa didn’t even bother to respond to Andrew’s shouting, and she completely ignored Roselyn, who looked ready to rip her to shreds.
She had a job to get to; no way she was wasting her time or energy people like them.
Maybe Roselyn was worried Andrew would make too much of a scene and draw Richard’s attention, so she stopped him from chasing after Teresa.

Instead, Roselyn leaned in and whispered, “Andrew, don’t worry. With me here, I’ll make sure she gets what’s coming to her.”
Andrew was seething. “Mom, I want you to ruin her. Kill her. And that slap she gave me last time? Don’t let her get away with it.”
Roselyn kept nodding, promising, “Alright, I’ll figure something out.”

When Teresa arrived at the hospital, she asked one of her colleagues in the department to help her treat the wound.
Her arm was scraped up, so her colleague disinfected it and wrapped it with a simple bandage. It wasn’t a big deal, but it still set her back at work a little.
That evening, Teresa had to stay an extra hour to finish writing up some patient records before finally leaving the hospital.
It was already past seven, and Teresa didn’t dare head back home to the Sullivan Mansion.
She was worried her family would be anxious, and even more afraid her brother Theodore would lose his cool and go after the Logan Family for her.
The Logan Family was totally out of the Sullivan Family’s league. If they ever really pissed off the Logan Family, the Sullivan Family wouldn’t stand a chance.
For her family’s safety, Teresa could only bite her tongue and put up with it.
Teresa told Theodore a little white lie, saying she had to go to an extra review session and would be home late, so they shouldn’t wait up for her at dinner.
Theodore knew she was busy prepping for grad school, so he didn’t think twice about her excuse.
After work, Teresa just started roaming the streets, not really caring where she was headed. She was just drifting, with no destination in mind.
Before she realized it, she’d wandered all the way to the front of a fancy restaurant.
From outside, Teresa could see Charles, Yolanda, and Naomi through the huge glass windows.
