Teresa lay curled up on the hospital bed, while Roselyn stood over her, looking like a demon ready to pounce.
>
“Teresa, how dare you hit my Logan family’s child? Do you have a death wish?” Roselyn spat.
Her words were like daggers, each syllable sharp enough to tear someone to pieces.
Teresa was utterly exhausted. She lifted her eyes to Roselyn, but had no energy to even respond.
Roselyn’s anger erupted at Teresa’s silence. She marched straight up and slapped Teresa hard across the face.
“You think you can ignore me? Who gave you the nerve to act like this?” Roselyn shouted.
She didn’t give a damn that Teresa was still Charles’s wife.
Teresa’s head whipped to the side, a bright red handprint blazing across her cheek.
Her eyes, red with fury, glared at Roselyn. Teresa sneered, “Enjoy your little meltdown while you can. This is the only time you’ve got the nerve to act wild.”
Roselyn’s fury snapped. She charged over and practically threw herself onto Teresa, pinning her down on the bed without a second thought.
She started raining down blows on Teresa, clawing and hitting her, totally out of control.
Teresa was so drained she couldn’t put up any resistance at all.
Roselyn didn’t stop until she was out of breath, panting heavily. Beneath her, Teresa’s face was utterly bloodless, so pale it was almost terrifying.
Her body was covered in angry red marks, the clear evidence of Roselyn’s furious grip.
Roselyn looked down at the mess she’d made and gave a satisfied nod, clearly proud of her work.
But Roselyn wasn’t about to stop. Grinding her teeth, she sank her nails hard into Teresa’s arm, her face full of venom. “You jinx,” she hissed. “We should’ve never let you set foot in this house.”
“What are you staring at? Got a–death wish or something? Why don’t you just go drop dead!”
“You actually dared lay a hand on one of the Logans? You must be begging to lose that sorry little life of yours!”
“All you Sullivans are nothing but filthy scum–can’t even hold your heads up in public.
Teresa lay on the hospital bed, completely helpless. All she could do was shrink away, trying her best to dodge Roselyn’s blows and clawing hands.
She was so drained she couldn’t even muster the strength to fight back. Even if she wanted to lash out, her body just wouldn’t obey her.
And as for Roselyn’s torrent of vicious insults, Teresa was too exhausted to even care, let alone talk back.
Roselyn hadn’t planned on leaving, but right then, her phone suddenly started ringing..
Teresa couldn’t catch what was being said on the other end, but she watched Roselyn’s face change in an instant.
With obvious panic in her voice as she answered the call, Roselyn blurted out, “Okay, I got it. I’ll be right there.”
Whatever happened, it had to be something huge–even big enough for Roselyn to drop this golden opportunity to bully Teresa.
She didn’t spare Teresa a single glance before she rushed out of the room.
After Roselyn left, Teresa finally let out a rare sigh of relief–but she was so weak, she couldn’t do a thing. Helpless, all she could do was watch as the angry red marks on her arm darkened, slowly blooming into bruises before her eyes.
Teresa had no idea when she ended up falling asleep. She was utterly drained, her whole body sticky and uncomfortable.
Somewhere in that haze between dreaming and waking, she sensed someone pushing open the door to her hospital room.

Chapter 221
Teresa was so on edge that even the slightest stir made her eyes shoot open.
A man entered the room–it was Andrew.
Seeing him, Teresa instantly knew nothing good could come of it. She didn’t bother trying to hide or put up a front. Instead, she let out a dry, mocking laugh. “Go on, Andrew. What brings you here this time?”
Andrew was unexpectedly calm. He pulled up a chair by the bed, his gaze lingering on Teresa’s battered form. “My sister had a high–risk exposure,” he said, his tone flat.
Earlier tonight, Serena was assisting her mentor during a surgery. In the middle of the operation, she accidentally sliced through her glove–and even nicked her own skin.
To make it worse, the patient on the table happened to be HIV–positive.
The whole OR instantly broke out into chaos.
Teresa’s eyes flickered with concern. “Did she take the meds?” she asked anxiously.

Andrew didn’t answer. Instead, he leaned in, his voice cold and biting. “Feeling proud of yourself now, aren’t you?”
Teresa blinked in confusion.
Seeing her stunned expression, Andrew let to become a doctor in the first place?”

Teresa just clammed up, refusing to answer him.
It was true–she really had told Serena to stick to her beliefs no matter what.
Seeing Teresa remain silent, Andrew’s anger boiled over. “My sister could’ve just married well and lived an easy life, never worrying about a thing. But because of something you said, she set her heart on being a doctor. And what did that get her, huh?”
Andrew paused, his voice trailing off.

After a long, tense silence, he finally spoke, his tone icy. “Teresa, if anything happens to my sister, do you really think the Logans will ever let you walk away?”
Teresa just let out a dry, mocking laugh. “Let’s be real- even if this hadn’t happened, the Logans were never going to let me go, were they?”
Andrew just stared at her, his face unreadable. Not a word left his lips.
After that suffocating silence, Teresa couldn’t help the prickling unease creeping up inside her. Her nerves were stretched taut as she shot Andrew a guarded look, suspicion clear in her eyes. “What do you want?” Teresa asked, her voice wary.
Right after she said that, Andrew shot to his feet, a hard look on his face. “I never lay a hand on women,” he said, his voice icy.
Before Teresa could make sense of his words, Andrew jerked his chin toward the doorway, “Get in here,” he barked.
The door to the hospital room was pushed open, and a young woman stepped inside.
Teresa peered at the figure in the doorway for a long moment before it finally clicked–it was Stella.
Stella came right up to the side of the bed, her lips curling into a gentle smile. “Ms. Sullivan, it’s been a while. Do you still remember
me?”
Teresa would never forget that incident–even if she wanted to. At that event, Stella was utterly disgraced because of Troy, losing all her dignity right in front of everyone.
Before Teresa could get a word out, Andrew barked out an order, his tone ice–cold. “Do it”
At that, Stella rubbed her palms together with anticipation, and without the slightest hesitation–just like Roselyn before her–she started hitting Teresa, completely ruthless and unconcerned.
