At Troy’s words, Teresa was momentarily stunned. She lowered her gaze to look at him.

Before she could finish, Troy interrupted, “Teresa, I really meant it.”

‘Is it this version, the one who’s so good to me right now? Or is it the Troy who kissed Naomi?‘

‘Maybe… neither of them is really him.

Pulling herself back from her drifting thoughts, Teresa looked at Troy and said, “I really didn’t mean what I said earlier. Don’t read too much into it.”

Troy stayed silent, but she noticed his fingers tightening around the spoon.

Meanwhile, after leaving the hospital, Roselyn couldn’t shake a stifling feeling in her chest, like something was stuck and she just couldn’t breathe easy.

Troy had the kind of power she couldn’t afford to challenge, but when it came to Charles, Roselyn was bold enough to go toe–to–toe with him

So, Roselyn told her driver to head straight for Charles’s company.

Once she got to the company, Roselyn gave Liam a call.

Roselyn tilted her chin, looking straight at him. “Take me to see Charles,” she said bluntly.

Liam frowned and explained, “Ms. Lockwood, Mr. Logan didn’t come to the office today. Please… don’t put me in a tough spot.”

Roselyn turned to glare at Liam. “He didn’t come in? So where did he go?”

Liam shook his head. “Mr. Logan just said he had some personal matters. I really didn’t feel it was my place to ask.”

Roselyn let it go and just said, “Alright, go do your thing. I’ll call him myself.”

After Liam left, Roselyn pulled out her phone and dialed Charles’s number.

When it came to Charles, being his mother didn’t really give Roselyn any special privileges.

Even as his mom, Charles often wouldn’t even answer when she tried to call.

That’s why Roselyn waited until Liam was gone before making the call.

What she didn’t expect was that, for once, Charles answered her call instantly.

The phone had barely started ringing when he picked up and asked, “What is it?”

Hearing his voice only made Roselyn’s frustration bubble up even more, but as his mother, she forced herself to stay calm. “What are you doing?” she asked.

“Just out shopping with someone,” Charles replied.

Roselyn immediately snapped, “Charles, you’ve got the nerve to go shopping right now? Do you even realize Teresa’s gone and picked up some pretty boy already?”

Charles sounded genuinely surprised, drawing out his voice: “Oh?”

Roselyn shot back, “Cut the crap with that ‘oh. You need to divorce her now. I even asked the doctors–there’s basically no chance she’ll ever get pregnant again. The Logan family doesn’t need a useless woman like her. Ditch her, and I’ll find you someone way better.”

After Roselyn barked out her demands, Charles just said flatly, “I’ll think about it.”

He kept quiet about already being in the mandatory divorce.cooling–off period.

Roselyn had more she wanted to spit out, but Charles hung up on her before she could get another syllable in.

After hanging up, Charles casually flipped through a magazine.

He was lounging on a sofa in an upscale clothing boutique, slowly sipping his coffee, not giving a damn about anything Roselyn had just said.

If Teresa really had a “pretty boy” on her arm, the only two guys Charles could think of were Troy and Hector.

Just as Charles was debating whether Teresa’s new ‘pretty boy” was Troy or Hector, the fitting room door swung open.

Charles glanced up instinctively and saw Naomi step out, wearing a deep red coat over a long, lacy white dress. Her hair was draped gracefully over her shoulders, radiating a vibe that was both cool and gentle.

Naomi looked at Charles, a soft smile playing on her lips. “Charles, how do I look?”

Charles nodded. “You look great”

Standing beneath the lights, Naomi outshone everything else–she absolutely stole the spotlight.
