Chapter 60

At exactly six o’clock, Troy arrived right on time. With the help of her makeup artist, Teresa stepped out of the Sullivan Mansion.
Since it was still early and her brothers hadn’t come back yet, only a few maids noticed her departure.
Not wanting her family to worry, Teresa told the maids, “If my brothers ask where I am when they get back, just say I went to the library to study.”
The maids smiled and nodded, agreeing to her instructions.
As she stepped outside, Teresa immediately spotted Troy’s car—a one–of–a–kind Lamborghini, looking sleek and impressive.
It was autumn, and the setting sun cast a warm orange glow across everything. Troy stood with his back to the sunlight, casually leaning against his car, arms loosely folded, his trench coat open, exuding an effortlessly cool vibe.
When he heard her approach, he looked up. Teresa stood bathed in the golden sunset, her fiery red dress enhancing her allure, her makeup flawless, giving her the appearance of a red–carpet star–she was absolutely breathtaking.
Just standing there, she commanded attention.
Troy was genuinely taken aback. He openly admired her, his eyes scanning her, taking in every detail with a mix of curiosity and appreciation. His gaze was filled with admiration, nothing more.
Teresa felt a little awkward under his gaze and quietly asked, “Does it not suit me?”
Troy approached her, offering his arm. “No, it suits you perfectly, The dress is beautiful, you look incredible, and your makeup is flawless.” Realizing he was rambling, he felt a little embarrassed.
Teresa didn’t respond, merely slipping her hand onto his arm.
Seizing the moment, Troy stole another glance at her and, in a serious tone, said, “What I meant to say is, you’re truly beautiful.”
Teresa blushed, realizing the intent behind his words. “Thank you.”
Troy, in his trench coat, looked effortlessly chic. When he wasn’t joking around, he resembled a refined gentleman–his fingers graceful, his face handsome.
Teresa’s dress, with its V–neck design, highlighted her stunning figure. When Troy glanced down, he caught an accidental glimpse of what he shouldn’t have seen.
So, he took off his trench coat and draped it around her shoulders. “It’s a bit chilly. You should wear this,” he said.
Teresa frowned and muttered under her breath, “It’s not cold at all.” Even though it was autumn, the evenings in Riverdale weren’t exactly cold.
Troy didn’t respond to her comment. Instead, he opened the car door and said, “Let’s get in.”
Teresa pulled the trench coat tighter around her and was about to step inside when she suddenly asked, “So, what kind of event is this?”
Troy replied, “It’s an auction. A lot of big shots from Riverdale will be there.”
Hearing that, Teresa frowned and asked, “A lot of big shots?”
Troy picked up on what she meant and explained, “Yeah, Charles will be there too.”
When she heard Charles would be there, Teresa suddenly started to hesitate. “I don’t want to go,” she said,
Troy, smiling, replied. “You promised me, Teresa. It’s not like you to back out last minute.”
Teresa fell silent. He was right. She had promised him. In the end, she got into the car
At the auction venue, the entrance was already crowded with parked cars and groups of people chatting When Troy’s car pulled up, a waiter opened the door and said, “Mr. Hamilton, your seats are ready

“Okay,” Troy responded coolly, then stepped out of the car.
He walked around to the passenger side, opened the door for Teresa, and offered his arm. Teresa slipped her hand through his arm and lifted her dress with her other hand as she gracefully exited the car.
As she stepped out of the Lamborghini, she caught the attention of several girls nearby. Seeing Troy treat her like a gentleman, they couldn’t help but envy her. Some of them even started whispering among themselves.
“Who is she? I don’t think I’ve ever seen her before,” one girl whispered.
“Well, when has Troy ever brought the same woman to an event twice?” another girl replied.
“That’s true. Troy never brings the same date to these parties,” a girl added.
“Yeah, but seriously, have you ever seen Troy open the car door for any woman before?” another girl chimed in.
“Honestly? Never. This is the first time. Who is she, anyway?” someone else asked.
Their voices weren’t exactly quiet, and Teresa caught almost everything they were saying. She just tuned it all out.
After she got out of the car, Troy leaned in and whispered to her, “Crowds always mean gossip, don’t let it bother you. From the very start, you’ve been the only woman in my heart, honey.”
Whether he meant it or not, Teresa didn’t pay much attention to his words. With her arm linked with Troy’s, the two of them walked into the auction hall, all eyes on them.
The auction hadn’t officially started yet, but the stage was already set up with a variety of items, most of them jewelry. The hall was slowly filling with people, and reporters were setting up cameras in the back.
Troy led Teresa to their seats in the front row. The hall was massive, easily accommodating over a thousand people, but there were only four prime spots, and they had two of them.
Compared to the outside, the auction hall was actually pretty quiet–none of that gossiping chatter could be heard here.
A commotion suddenly broke out outside, followed by a shout. “Charles Logan! It’s Charles Logan and his beloved woman!”
Teresa caught that part of the conversation, and moments later, Charles and Naomi appeared at the entrance.
