After sending the message to Rose, Troy looked up at Teresa. He thought she was still asleep, but to his surprise, she was already awake.
Seeing her awake, Troy asked, puzzled, “What’s wrong?” She had been sleeping soundly just moments ago, and now she was suddenly awake.
Troy put away his phone and shot Teresa a worried look.
He scanned her carefully, noticing that while most of her bruises had started to heal, a couple of large ones were still stubbornly lingering.
Teresa met Troy’s concerned gaze and managed a small smile. “It’s nothing. I just want to go to the bathroom.”
Hearing this, Troy immediately stood up and reached for the IV bag. “Let’s go. I’ll go with you.”
Seeing this, Teresa quickly said, “I’ll just call the nurse.”
As she spoke, she reached out, about to press the call button.
But Troy was faster, catching her arm gently as he said, “They’re all busy. I’ll go with you.”
His tone was unmistakably determined, and Teresa knew Troy was dead set on going with her–there was no way he’d take no for an
answer.
Even though she was dying of embarrassment, when nature calls, you really just have to go.
So, in the end, she surrendered and let him have his way.
Once they reached the bathroom, Troy stood by her side, holding up the IV bag while Teresa’s cheeks flushed hotly. She felt unbelievably awkward as she used the bathroom with him so close.
Troy probably noticed how uneasy she was, so he suddenly asked, “Do you want to meet my mom?”
Teresa stared at him, stunned. “Huh?”
Troy kept his gaze forward and went on, “My mom’s honestly a wonderful person. She’s been hoping to meet you for a long time now.”
Even though Troy was mostly trying to save Teresa from feeling awkward, he genuinely meant what he said.
After Teresa was done, she hurried to fix her clothes and flushed the toilet. Feeling a bit embarrassed, she glanced at Troy and mumbled, “I’m not sure if it’s really a good idea for me to go meet her…”
อ
Troy finally turned her way, grinning from ear to ear. “It’s gonna happen eventually, you know.”
Seeing how determined Troy was, Teresa’s face hardened. “But I never planned on meeting her.”
Troy just smiled. “Someday, you will.”
Teresa’s voice was even firmer. “Never.”
Troy looked annoyed–he didn’t care that he still had the IV bag dangling from one hand. With his free arm, he grabbed Teresa and pulled her right into his arms, his voice dropping to a low, forceful rumble. “If I say it’s gonna happen, then it will.”
Troy’s tone was downright domineering Without any hesitation, he practically dumped Teresa straight back onto the bed.
Once he finished hanging the IV bag, he plopped himself right back down next to her on the bed.
He leaped forward, his tall frame casting a deep shadow over Teresa, practically enveloping her in his presence.
He met her dark eyes, his tone teasing with a little smirk. “You know you can never win against me–why not just be good and listen to Toe, just this once?”
Troy’s tone turned playfully domineering, leaving Teresa completely at a loss for how to respond,
She dodged his gaze, her eyes wandering off into the distance as it searching for something to say.

Chapter 234
While Teresa was still racking her brain for an answer, the chime of a text message suddenly sounded from her phone.
Teresa quickly turned to Troy. “Hang on, I need to check my phone. It might be something from the hospital.”
Frustration surged in Teresa as she fired back: [But Yolanda is my daughter–she came from me! How could you ask me to give her up?]
Charles texted back, his message icy: [Yeah, she’s your daughter–but if you’re okay with her being close with Naomi, then that’s your choice.]
Teresa stared at his cold words, her heart heavy. She typed: [Once the cooling–off period ends, we’ll get the divorce certificate. As for Yolanda, after we’re divorced, I can’t promise I won’t be involved with her at all, but I’ll try my best to stay out of it or be involved as little as I can.]
She didn’t even glance to see if Charles had sent anything else after that. The whole time Teresa was texting Charles, Troy’s eyes never left her. Once she put her phone down, he asked softly, “Was that Charles?” Teresa nodded. “Yeah.”
Troy only had to glance down and he would’ve seen Teresa’s chat with Charles right there on the screen.
But for some reason–qven he didn’t know why–he just couldn’t make himself look. He didn’t want to know what they were saying to each other
Concert: Teresa couldn’t help but wonder.
Hearing that. Troy shot back sarcastically. “If he really cared about you, he’d be here in the hospital by your side, not just shooting off a few words on his phone and calling it concern
For a moment. Troy actually believed her Honestly, he’d figured that if they d been texting for that long, it had to be something serious. But really? Just checking up on her? That’s all it was!

Teresa, seeing Troy get agitated, tried to explain, “He’s probably just busy with something else.”
“Yeah, right. He’s busy–busy spoiling his little sweetheart,” Troy shot back, not even trying to hide the sarcasm in his voice.
Teresa didn’t respond–she just fell silent.
She’d only tossed out an offhand explanation, never expecting Troy to blow up like this.
Teresa figured Troy would storm off, but he didn’t. Instead, after a few seconds, he flashed a wicked grin at her and joked, “Since he’s out there fooling around, why not have some fun yourself? Sleep with me–let’s piss him off together.”
Teresa’s face turned red with fury as she glared at Troy, her voice shaking with anger. “You… you scoundrel!”
Troy just grinned wider, totally unfazed. “Hey, it’s not like we haven’t shared a bed before.”
Teresa shot back, still fuming. “That’s totally different!”
Troy didn’t get mad–instead, he stretched out his words with a teasing lilt, “Oh? So, are you looking to sleep with someone different?”
The double meaning landed instantly–Teresa knew exactly what he was getting at.
Knowing there was no way she could out–talk Troy, Teresa pulled the blanket over her head, totally flustered, and mumbled, “I’m going to sleep.”
