The monster didn’t flinch. He adjusted his stance, pinned one arm beside my head with a force that said ‘don’t even think about moving,‘ while the other curled around my waist.
His knee wedged between mine. I could feel the roughness of his pants grazing dangerously close to where I was most vulnerable, and the intimacy of it made my skin crawl.
“You have no idea how fucking obsessed I am with you, Green.” His voice was low, gravel–edged and intimate, and brushed against the sensitive dip beneath my jaw.
Oh, God. This looked like a movie scene.
If this were anyone else–a harmless man with sweet/eyes and kind hands–I’d have melted. I’d have kissed him.
But it was him–the monster. The monster who killed people without remorse. The monster who hurt me.
I could never fall for anything he does, no matter how good he made it sound. No, I wanted to destroy him.
“You’re the most perfect woman I have ever laid eyes on, Rali.” His lips ghosted over my skin like he owned it. “For sixteen years, I starved to be near you. To feel your breath on my mouth. To hear your whimpers because of me.”
He gathered a loose strand of my hair, twirling it around his finger like I was some rare delicate thing worth admiring before destroying. “I go fucking insane picturing you underneath me–writhing, gasping, soaked. That tight little pussy of yours crying for me to go deeper. Your pretty mouth stretched around my cock like it was made for it. And you taking it like a wicked little slut.”
Jesus!
What kind of beast could make filth sound like a symphony? How were my thighs almost quivering from his mere
utterances?
His cold grey gaze lifted, locking with mine. His eyes, so frigid they could’ve carved glaciers, roamed to my lips. “I used to think witches were old, wrinkled, and evil. I never knew there were pretty ones like you.”
I gulped hard when his hand dropped to my face and his thumb skimmed the softness of my bottom lip. He took his time, like he was mapping out all the places he planned to ruin.
“And I don’t mind being hexed by you for the rest of my damned life. If there’s a prison I’m willing to rot in, it’s your heart. Lock me up, Rali. I’ll never ask for parole.”
A scowl spread across my face. “There’s no cell for you in my heart. Stop wasting your time and just let me go. Please.”
His eyes darkened, and I expected a strike or something, but surprisingly, he only smiled.
He leaned in, the heat of his breath skimming my mouth just as the tip of his tongue traced the seam of my lips. I flinched and jerked my face to the side.
God damnit,
“You can deny it all you want. But know this-” his fingers slid through my hair. “-there is no world, no breath, no heartbeat that exists without me in it.”
My throat tightened. “You do realize you’ve been forcing me against my
will?”
“Fuck, yes. And I love every second of it.”

Chapter 28
“How can you not see what is wrong with this!? You don’t do this to people.”

He gave a devil’s smile. “Trust me, I’ll never treat ‘people‘ this way. But you’re not ‘people‘, Rali. You’re mine, and that changes the game.”
Before I could decode the chilling finality of that statement, his arms wrapped under my thighs, hoisting me up the floor. A startled yelp broke from my lips as I instinctively clutched his shoulders to anchor myself.
My legs were split wide around him, each thigh dangling on either side of his hips. The thought of being naked and open to him made my stomach twist and knot.
Gold Lord.
Three steps. That was all it took for him to reach my dresser. He sat me on the edge of the table like I weighed nothing. One hand remained around my waist while the other swept everything on the table to the floor. The loud clatter of falling compacts and glass shattering made me gasp.
What the hell!? Those were expensive!
“What’re you doing!?” My voice rose in panic as he shoved me toward the center.
He didn’t answer–at least, not with words. He took off his gloves and his bare hands returned to me, sliding up my spine.
“Don’t worry, I’ll pay for damages.”
My thoughts spiraled. The chaos of broken glass and breathless tension. The heat radiating off his skin.
I barely had time to process anything before his mouth descended: first on my neck, then lower, tracing a burning trail down the valley between my breasts.
Nerves crawled up into my throat when he lowered himself between my legs and his lips kissed my thigh.
“What…What’re you doing?”
He didn’t even acknowledge the question.
His lips dragged across my skin, lingering too long in places that made me flinch. The way he worshipped my body like it belonged to him made my blood boil and freeze.
He kept the kisses going until he got too close for comfort. I flinched and tried to push him off with all my might, but it was futile. It was maddening how easily he caged me.
“You told me you were going to wait!” I shouted in frustration from not being able to push him off.
How could one man be so strong? So unmovable?
“I’am‘ waiting,” he growled, sounding pissed like I was ungrateful or something.
He was insane. How was he waiting when-
A scream interrupted my train of thoughts, the sound coming from me. He’d sunk his teeth into the soft skin dangerously close to my center.
He bit it so hard, dragging the flesh between his teeth like he meant to brand it.
I cursed at him until he finally released it, the place throbbing with pain.

“The only agreement I made was between my cock and your pussy, Rali. I never said anything about my tongue,” he served the words on a silver platter, garnished with sweet poison.
I watched in panic as he hooked my legs over his broad shoulders and buried his face in the tenderest part of my body.
Then he did nothing. No tongue. No movement. Just…
He inhaled.
He was sniffing me.
“Fuck,” the word came out low I almost didn’t hear him.

My hands pressed flat against the table for balance. I frantically looked around for anything I could get hold of that could hurt him, but everything useful had already been swept to the floor in his earlier madness.
I glanced at the window. I wasn’t getting any help was I?
Desperate, I wriggled, trying to unhook my legs from his shoulders. But he gripped them too tight.
Then, I did something I’d never done to anyone before. I punched him in the face.
