I sniffled, pushing my legs forward with very slow steps. I feared I’d trip over something if I walked too carelessly.

The tip of the knife was no longer touching my spine, but he was still there, following me. Fortunately, I hadn’t bumped into anything yet. Until

A scream ripped out of my throat as needles stabbed into my foot. I stumbled backward, hitting him.

What the hell was that?

He pushed me forward, putting one hand on my shoulder. Keep walking.”

PleaseI panted, like I was begging the Devil to be gentle.

He didn’t say a word, and I took that as his response and kept walking, expecting the floor to bite me again.

A liquid licked at my feet. I paused again.

There’sthere’s something here.Like he wouldn’t know that already or like he cared.

He didn’t respond. Instead, he shoved me forward, and I landed squarely in the center of it. It was thick and cold.

Oh, God. It couldn’t be blood, could it?

I felt irritated having to move with the sticky liquid under my feet. I couldn’t even cry anymore. Fear was wringing me dry.

I continued walking, praying I don’t step on something worse.

The lights snapped on, not fullyjust a pale, blue glow that barely touched the corners. But it was better than the suffocating darkness.

I looked around, blinking against the darkness still stitched into my eyes in front of me, a door stood open.

Get in,he ordered gruffly.

I stared down at my feet and choked when I discovered the liquid I’d stepped on was blood.

I tried to turn, needing to see his face, but he pressed the tip of the blade against me, keeping me in place.

Slowly, I walked in, so frightened of what I might see. And unfortunately, I wasn’t disappointed.

The room was straight out of a horror collector’s dream. The walls looked like they’d been scrubbed with screams, layered with grime, old blood, and claw marks. Metal chains dangled from the ceiling, looping through metal bars like spiderwebs. On one side, surgical tools lay scattered in rusted pans; tools I was sure didn’t belong in any hospital.

Everything buzzedmy ears, my brain, the very air. I feared I was seconds away from collapsing into unconsciousness. Thinking of all the people he’d tortured and killed in this place made me nauseated. How could he bring me here?

Tears pooled in my eyes as I inched forward, my legs barely cooperating. I moved like a snail begging for mercy, praying with every breath that he’d change his mind and let me go.

But then, I heard the click and spun around just as the door sealed shut behind him.

Welcome to one of my rooms, Rali. His voice carried no warmth. Just words.

Brushing past me, he headed to a table in the middle. From it, he picked up something that looked like the lovechild of a medieval torture wheel and a bed of nails. The tool had spikes all over that looked sharp enough to scare even death itself.

His fingers traced each spike with a reverence that made me nauseous. I staggered back on instinct, every cell in my body screaming at me to run.

The door was behind me, unguarded. And while I thought of attempting an escape, a more rational voice warned me of how stupid it was. He’d easily catch me and shoot me.

His eyes found mine, and in there, I saw the promise of a threat.

Not one more step, Rali.

I froze on command, but my heart didn’t. It drummed like it was trying to break out of its cage.

He dropped the spiked tool and walked toward a contraption hanging on the wall. It was a metal pulley system that could hold a fullgrown adult in midair.

People always have the same reaction when they see this room,He casually ran his hand over the chains. This placeit’s a marvel, Rali. A cathedral of truth. You’d be surprised how chatty people get when their bones begin to stretch the wrong

way.

Oh God.

I didn’t even realize I was hyperventilating until I tasted metal on my tongue.

He left the pulley behind and moved to a shelf in the cornerlined with small glass bottles, each filled with a different colored liquid.

These,he said almost affectionately. are my ingestible weapons. His gloved fingers skimmed the bottle.

They don’t kill. They make the mind see what it wants, or what it fears. Hallucinations so real, you’d think your worst enemy is sitting across from you, spilling secrets you didn’t even know you had.

He chuckled. Actually chuckled.

Sometimes, the victim sees joyfamily, lovers, children. They relax and open up. Other times, it’s torment, blood, screams. It drives them to fear so deep, they spill the truth just to make them stop.

He turned slightly, that sick smile still tugging at his lips. I use them when I’m in a rush. When death is near and I need answers quickly. They take away the fun from real torture, though. Not my favorite.”

His smile faded into a frown. And they’re not always reliable.”

God, this guy wasn’t just sick; he was a masterpiece of madness wrapped in skin. How did he derive so much pleasure in doing this? Like a child with toys, only his toys were built to ruin people.

He crossed over to another corner, picking up a long weapon with a curved end. He smiled as he ran his hand along the edges.

I named this Digger. Once it’s in, it carves its way around. Perfect for scooping out intestines.”

Oh, God. I was going to throw up. I threw my hand over my mouth, the other flying to my middle.

He looked at me and chuckled. Then, my horror tripled when he started towards me with Digger in his hand.

No. No. No.

I was about backing away when I remembered he’d warned me not to make a move. So, despite how frightened I was, I stayed rooted to the spot.

Please, don’t hurt me,My voice sounded pathetic even to me.

He didn’t stop. Not until he was right in front of me. Two inches. Maybe less. I could taste his breath on my lips, smell the menace on him.

He cocked his head to the side. But that is exactly what I’m going to do, Green.”

Then he raised the weapon and gently placed the tip against my chest. I released a breath of shock.

Fortunately, he only teased me and didn’t cut me with it.

Why didn’t you listen to me?His gaze didn’t meet mine. He was watching the Digger as it sat resting above my heart. I told you not to involve anyone else.

I’m sorry,I blurted out. II didn’t know what I was thinking. Pl-

He didn’t let me finish. He pushed the blade into my skin. It was a small prick, just enough to sting. The pain was nothing, but the meaning behind it? That was the scream living inside my throat.

Do you have any idea what I’m going to do to you, Rali?He drew back Digger slowly, like it was a pen writing the first letter of my agony.

The next second, his hand twisted in my hair and yanked, like he was trying to peel my scalp off. I screamed as my fingers clawed at his.

I’m going to fuck you real hard, and I mean your pussy. I’ll finally claim what’s mine, over and over. Until you can’t remember how it felt to not belong to me. Until you need help just walking to the goddamn bathroom.

He shoved me away like I was trash he no longer wanted to touch, and Digger clattered to the ground beside me.

My body was shaking like it knew the pain was only beginning. I threw my arms around me, wishing I could stop it.

There was no point begging. He was never going to listen.

Get out,he suddenly ordered.

The single command brought a torrent of emotions coursing through me. Was he letting me go?

I didn’t wait to know.

Hands quivering, I rose, opened the door and stepped out of the roomonly to be dragged back by my hair once again. He pulled it so hard like he had a special mission to separate my hair from my scalp.

I whimpered as I was pushed into another room which was brighter than the previous one. This one didn’t have as much torture weapons, but it contained something that made me feel worse.

A bed.

My throat tightened around a scream I hadn’t yet earned. I couldn’t move, not because he’d ordered me still, but because my own fear had paralyzed me.

He released my hair, moved towards a corner of the room and grabbed a whip. Except it wasn’t just a whip. It had branches -four sharp tails.

Jesus Christ. Was he going to use that on me?

Before my feet could summon the courage to move, he was behind me again.

Take off your clothes.
