Chapter 22
Eleanor’s eyes were red with anxiety.
Lina was a clingy and well-behaved child. Although she could be mischievous and energetic at times, she generally never ran off on her own. Let alone disappear without telling any adults.
Something was very wrong.
“Mom, don’t panic.” Quinten rushed over, panting, clearly having already searched the area.
“There are a lot of kids around here. Lina might have just gone off to play somewhere. Let’s check the surveillance cameras first.”
Nathaly also reacted quickly, pulling out her phone to check the location.
“The children’s watch I gave Lina has a GPS function… The map shows she’s about two kilometers away from this beach…” Nathaly murmured.
Eleanor finally breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank goodness for you…”
But in the next second, Nathaly’s expression changed dramatically.
“The location is moving very fast all of a sudden… Something’s wrong, she’s in a car!”
Eleanor’s face turned pale almost instantly, and even Quinten’s expression grew grim.
“That’s impossible. I’ve always taught Lina never to get into a stranger’s car.”
“I’ve already sent someone to check the surveillance footage,” Elijah said from the side.
Thinking of his network of connections, Nathaly, for once, did not argue back.
This made him feel a bit pleased.
Soon, the beach manager took them to check the surveillance cameras. At the same time, Eleanor also called the po- lice.
To everyone’s surprise, there were four or five other sets of parents who reported missing children on the same day. This made the whole situation even more bizarre.
The police quickly identified the suspect who took Lina and the other children from the surveillance footage.
It was Aidan, a male teacher from Lina’s kindergarten.
Nathaly had met him before-humble, gentle, and fond of animals. He was also quite handsome and sunny, very pop- ular at the kindergarten.

Especially Lina, who often talked about wanting to marry Aidan when she grew up.
It was hard to imagine that a man like him could ever do anything malicious to children.
But with so many children involved, no one dared to take any chances. All available police forces were mobilized to search.
For Lina’s sake, Nathaly asked Elijah for help for the first time.
“This child is extremely important to both me and Eleanor. We-”
“I know.”
Elijah, who had always seemed indifferent to children, now had only gentleness in his usually cold eyes. “I’ve con- tacted the largest gang organization here. Their intelligence network is the most thorough. We’ve also found Aidan’s real background, but…”
Thinking of the message his assistant had sent a few minutes ago, Elijah frowned. “Four years ago in France, he was involved in a child molestation case. And he also participated in a local online group for pedophiles with nearly a hundred members.”
Upon learning the truth, Nathaly felt a chill spread through her chest.
This meant that Lina was very likely taken by Aidan to be handed over to others for abuse. The consequences were unbearable for anyone.
To help the police solve the case faster, Elijah shared all the information with them free of charge, which greatly clar- ified their leads.
Even Quinten showed him gratitude for the first time.
Soon, according to Lina’s watch’s GPS, the vehicle carrying her stopped at an abandoned hospital forty kilometers
away.
