A Love to Die For (Nathaly) novel Chapter 23

Chapter 23

Nathaly found Lina in an abandoned operating room.

She and several other little girls were all unconscious.

However, the number of children present did not match the number of missing children reported; two boys were still unaccounted for.

Quinten and Elijah went to search for the remaining two boys.

After Nathaly and Eleanor blocked the operating room door with a cart, they finally dared to try waking Lina.

But the girls had been drugged and could not wake up for a while. With no other option, Nathaly could only pray for the police to arrive soon.

Fortune was on her side.

Not far away, the sound of police sirens rang out, but what made her expression change drastically was that someone was violently trying to force open the operating room door.

The criminals also heard the sirens and were preparing to destroy the evidence.

But when they found the door locked, they realized something was wrong.

One of the men with a gun smashed the glass on the operating room door, reached in to try to push away the obstacle blocking the door, but locked eyes with Nathaly and Eleanor inside.

The man cursed under his breath and raised his gun toward the room, but Nathaly fired first.

However, there were too many criminals. Nathaly could only retreat into the surgical partition where the children were and wait for rescue.

Fortunately, the police had already arrived.

After a chaotic gunfight, everything finally calmed down.

Fifteen minutes later, the large criminal gang led by Aidan, which trafficked in children’s organs, was apprehended.

The unconscious children were all sent to the hospital for medical examination.

Elijah was also taken away in an ambulance. He had been shot in the chest while saving Quinten from a sneak attack.

Fortunately, the bullet wound was still some distance from his heart; otherwise, he would have died on the spot.

Even though Nathaly had once hated Elijah so much she wished him dead, when she learned he had saved her family, she still felt grateful to him.

But it was only gratitude, nothing more.

At the entrance of the operating room, Elijah lay on a hospital bed when he suddenly heard a nurse frown and ask, “Is anyone here blood type A?”

Quinten raised his hand. “I am.”

Elijah frowned and refused, “I don’t need you to donate blood for me out of gratitude, I—”

Nathaly interrupted him, “There’s plenty of type A blood. The nurse is just asking as a routine check.”

A flash of embarrassment crossed Elijah’s eyes. Nathaly continued to twist the knife in his heart.

“Don’t worry, I’m not like you. I could never make a choice between two people. The ones I care about will always be my priority.”

This remark was a fatal blow, and Elijah on the hospital bed fell silent.

The next moment, Quinten, who was enjoying the show, commented with both sympathy and mockery, “Bro, even though you saved me, compared to what you did before… sigh, belated affection is worth less than grass.”

Elijah glanced at him silently and handed him a will before entering the operating room.

“It doesn’t matter. Even if I die, this fortune worth billions will go to Nathy anyway.”

Quinten rubbed his nose and passed the will to Nathaly, who was wiping sweat from Lina as she received an IV.
