Chapter 225
Conrad Pov
ti this delusional psychopath doesn’t release my mate in the next ten seconds, I’m going to shatter his wrist. I know Lewana can tell I’m seething, but she is holding herself together.
Lewana is talking softly to him, but I can tell it is getting a lot for her, so I stand next to her for support and protection. This makes Donovan grip her hand harder and start panicking.
Lana Queen. You have to stay and discuss how to save Malik with me. Conrad is irrelevant now. You already carry the bloodline. Make him leave and stay so we can plan‘.
She stays calm, but I can see her hand going white as he grips harder. He might be restrained, but he is still dangerous, so I grab his wrist ready to break it.
Lewana speaks to him softly. “I understand, Donovan. But you said we have three days, right? I need to go eat or feed the pups to make sure they are well, and then we can talk more“.
He releases her hand just enough so her blood flow returns. “You will come back and discuss the plan“.
She replies. “Yes, but you need to be good to the medics looking after you and stop screaming. If you need me, tell the soldiers and they will mind link me. Understood“.
He releases a bit more tension on her hand, and she pulls her hand free. I instantly put my arm around her shoulders and guided her outside to a waiting Liam and Arthur.
Lewana’s tears start falling as soon as she is around the corner, and she starts rubbing her wrist. I can feel her adrenaline wearing off from leaving the room, and her knees start to buckle. I scoop her up and start walking to the pack house. I don’t even know where I’m planning on going. I just have to get out of here.
When I see the pack house and the worried looks of the staff, I know I have to get somewhere we won’t be interrupted. I head straight for my living room on the first floor.
As soon as we enter, I place her down on the couch. “You OK, Moonlight?“.
She is still rubbing her wrist when she looks at me. “Yeah. My wrist is going to bruise, and Serena thinks a bone might be fractured but should be healed by tomorrow“.
I can’t stop the anger that builds up inside my chest and the growl that comes out. “Why the HELL did you hold his hand? You knew he was dangerous“.
She stares at me, ready to argue. “We needed information. As soon as he clammed up, I used the calming aura to make sure he kept going“.
That did nothing to calm the fury in my chest.
I barked at Liam. “The second he is cleared from medical, put him in prison so I can interrogate him“.
Liam just nods, but Lewana grabs my hand. “We need to keep him in medical for at least the next two days. We need to get as much information from him as possible to have the upper hand so we can defeat Malik and the shadows“.

{ Arwen she’s right. I hate that she’s right. I still can’t stand seeing her hurt in any way, I kneel down in front of her on the couch and gently lift her sere wrist and kiss it before placing my head in her lap.
Lam and Arthin just stand there, letting us have our moment. It’s Arthur who interrupts us.
So what’s the plan? It’s nearly noon and we know we have three nights“.
Lewana is the first to speak. “Well, Malik will know something is up because Donovan didn’t return. He will probably assume we captured him because the bond didn’t break. He might speed up his plan to attack if he wants to rescue his brother. Or if he is concerned, he will start talking to us“.
Arthur joins in. Agreed. Doubt he will attack tonight, though. There is still moon tonight. It’s whether he will try tomorrow night or wait for the true new moon after that“.
Liam speaks up, worried. “What about the pack. We have pups here. Women who don’t know how to fight back. We still have to sort through. Do we evacuate?”
Lewana answers him with a worried look in her eyes. “We can’t. We’re too large at 4000 now. Where would we even go? We also have no idea where Malik is. If we go the wrong way, we could walk right into him and an army if he still has one“.
