LUNA

Abel was being so gentle yet rough at the same time. His movements were rough, but he was whispering sweet nothings into my car. It was almost a wonder how he could treat me like this and go back to ignoring me the next morning.

The sound of our skin slapping against each other filled the entire cabin. It was almost shameful how we were doing this in a stranger’s place, but at the same time, I was way too lost in the pleasure to even care.-

“So fucking tight,” he whispered into my ear, making me unconsciously clench around him. He groaned out loud and held onto my neck.

“You did that on purpose, didn’t you?”

“N-no,” I moaned, but did it again, this time deliberately to test his patience.

He groaned and brought me closer to him, thrusting into me at an even faster pace. My mouth opened, and no sounds came out because the pleasure was all too much.

“Close, Abel,” I managed to say. “I’m so close.”

“Me too, angel,” he whispered.

Angel.

It wasn’t the first time he called me that. He called me that name during the auction because I was literally dressed like one. However, he was saying it out of context now, and it made my heart squeeze a little bit because he made a nickname for me.

Despite the two of us getting closer to our release, his movements didn’t get sloppy at all. I watched as the muscles on his thigh flexed with every thrust; however, I quickly saw white when he started abusing the sweet spot inside of me.

“A-abel,” I stammered out of pleasure. “Inside,” I begged.

“Hmm, you want it, right?” he muttered.

“Yes, yes,” I moaned out loud.

Maybe it was because my family had been messed up since my mother died that I wanted to have a family of my own. That would be good, right? It momentarily escaped my mind that

this relationship, whatever it was, would cease to exist the moment I gave birth. However, all I could focus on at that moment was him and only him.

He continued kissing my lips, but I moved away for a moment. I wanted to see the look on his face. I couldn’t help the small gasp that escaped my lips as I observed his face. He was even more handsome like this unkempt and relaxed.

However, the moment I looked in his eyes, there was an emotion that passed through that couldn’t be mistaken for anything else.

Regret.

There was a slight pang in my chest. Did he regret this?

Then, just when I thought he was going to release inside me, he slipped out and released on my stomach instead. I still moaned from the sudden extrusion, but it was quickly replaced with confusion.

My past joy quickly died down when he stood, not even looking at me. “You’re not ready,” he said.

“What?” I whispered. “But I gave you the permission already.”

“Isn’t it that you wanted this, too?” I added.

Again, he didn’t turn to look at me. He ran his fingers through his hair, making me even more confused than before. “There’s a lake near here,” he said. “I’ll wash up there. There’s water in the bathroom. You can use that.”

With that, he moved out of the cabin, leaving me there, naked and confused. And at the same time, the ache in my chest had returned, but this time, it was even more painful. I looked at the mess we made on the couch and let out a shaky breath.

“Seriously,” I muttered, my voice trembling just a little bit.

“I just don’t get you.”

The car was silent.

Abel’s hands were gripping the wheel tightly. I sat in the passenger seat, staring out the window. Tyson had come to fetch us this morning in his car, and he was now sitting in the back.

“So,” Tyson said after a while, breaking the silence. “It’s actually you-angel.”

My head snapped toward him.

Before I could ask, the tires screeched.

Abel slammed the brakes so hard that my seatbelt cut across my chest. Tyson’s head hit the front seat with a dull thud.

“What the hell, man?” Tyson groaned, rubbing his forehead. “You’re not usually this reckless.”

Abel said nothing. He just stared straight ahead, his jaw tightening before starting the car once

more.

Tyson then raised his brows, looked at him, then at me. Then, his expression changed to that of a teasing one.

“Ah,” he said slowly, a small smirk forming. “I see.”

Tyson’s lips curled. “Angel,” he repeated.

Abel slammed the brakes again.

This time, Tyson’s hand shot out to grip the front seat. He also didn’t retaliate. In fact, he laughed out loud, throwing his head back in amusement.

“Are you kidding me?” I exclaimed.

I turned to Abel, completely bewildered. “Are you twelve or something?” I snapped, unable to stop myself. “Can’t you drive properly?”

He said nothing again. He just clenched his jaw and kept his gaze fixed ahead, pretending the steering wheel was the most fascinating thing in the world.

Tyson leaned back, clearly entertained. “Oh, this is gold,” he muttered under his breath, laughing to himself.

I glared at him through the rearview mirror, but he just gave me a knowing look that made me want to sink through the seat.

Abel didn’t say a word after that. The car rolled forward again. I tried to look outside, but my thoughts were louder than the noise of the road.

Every mile made what happened last night feel more unreal. He looked at me like I was something he didn’t deserve-and yet couldn’t stop touching.

And now he was silent. Cold again. As if nothing had happened.

I pressed my lips together and turned my face toward the window, swallowing hard. The ache in my chest spread slowly.

When we finally stopped, I realized we’d arrived at his house. Abel got out first. Tyson followed, still smirking, and started talking to him in low tones I couldn’t quite catch.

I waited for a moment before stepping out, hugging my arms to my chest.

“I’ll just get dressed,” Abel said curtly to Tyson.
