I was about to go inside when something wet brushed against my hand. I turned around and saw Abel’s wolf looking at me with wide eyes.
It seemed Abel had lost control of his wolf once more, and this big, furry thing was his own separate entity.
“What?” I whispered, blinking at him. “What is it?”
He lowered his head, and nudged my hand again.
I couldn’t help but smile. “Do you want me to pet you?”
He blinked slowly, then looked at me with a long, exaggerated look that screamed ‘yes, human, exactly that.’
A laugh escaped me before I could stop it. “Oh my gosh,” I said. “You’re actually so cute.” He huffed, but didn’t move away. Instead, he leaned closer, his tail swishing once behind him. I sighed in surrender, my heart softening. “Okay,” I muttered.
My fingers brushed through his fur, and it was softer than I remembered. I let out a small giggle as he pressed his head into my palm, rumbling with what I could only describe as a wolfish purr.
“So cute,” I murmured. “You’re so cute. So different from your owner.”
It seemed he was overjoyed by my statement. I laughed. “It’s true, right? Your owner is reckless. Do you know what he just did? He drove us into a forest. Who does that?”
Abel’s wolf somehow smiled. He tilted his head slightly, and for a brief second, he appeared
smug.
“Can he hear me?” I asked suddenly.
He shook his head.
“Oh, really? So he can’t hear any of this?”
The wolf nodded again, and it was all the permission I needed. I leaned closer, smiling

wickedly. “Well then, you’re much more handsome, too.”

He froze. Then, to my utter delight, he made that low, vibrating sound again–a pleased growl that made my checks burn.
“Wow,” I laughed, shaking my head. “So casy to please, huh?”
He nuzzled my shoulder, and I burst out in a giggle when his nose brushed against my neck. “Okay, okay, stop! That tickles!”
But he didn’t stop. Instead, he snuggled up even closer, the full weight of him pressing against me until I lost my balance and stumbled backward.
“Abel!” I yelped, landing on the ground with a soft thud.
He immediately followed, curling up beside me like an oversized dog who didn’t know his size.
I couldn’t stop laughing. The air filled with the sound of it. His fur rippled under my touch as he leaned in again. I gasped when his tongue swiped across my cheek. He licked me again, and I could only laugh harder. “Stop it! That tickles!”
I reached down to tickle his tummy in revenge, and he immediately rolled over, showing his belly like some overgrown puppy.
“Oh, so you like that, huh?” I teased, fingers brushing over his stomach.
He let out another rumbling sound of pleasure, and I couldn’t help smiling.
I closed my eyes for a second, still giggling, my fingers tracing patterns through his fur. But then, something changed.
The warmth beneath my hand had changed. What was once soft fur began to feel smoother and harder.
My brow furrowed.
And then I realized–it wasn’t fur anymore.
It was skin.
My eyes snapped open.
Gone was the dark, massive wolf. In his place was Abel–the man.

I froze. So did he. His eyes, sharp and startled, met mine. And that was when I realized where my hand was resting.
It was right on something solid. Warm. Very much not a stomach.
My entire body went rigid, horror dawning on me. Abel’s breath hitched. My fingers twitched in panic, but that only made it worse, because it brushed past his cock.
For a moment, I couldn’t move. All I could hear was the thundering of my own heartbeat.
Abel’s groan pulled me back to reality. “Are you not going to let go?”
My mouth opened then closed again. My face felt hot enough to start a forest fire. “Oh, uh— right!” I muttered, pulling my hand back as fast as I could.
He clicked his tongue, muttered something under his breath, and stood word, he walked into the cabin.
I stayed where I was, staring after him with my heart doing somersaults. My mind scrambled for composure, but it was useless.
I sat there for a moment, staring at the trees swaying gently in the night wind. The air was cold but comforting, and I let it cool my burning cheeks. When I looked up, the sky was streaked with silver, the moon hanging between the branches. It was already the first quarter, I realized.
That meant that there were two more weeks until the full moon.
After a while, I stood up and dusted myself off. I walked quietly, pushing open the cabin door.
It creaked as it opened, revealing Abel near the old stone fireplace, his broad back to me. The light wasn’t working, so the only source was the moon through the broken window.
It was blurry at first, but I froze when I realized what I was looking at.
“Oh gosh,” I muttered, spinning around instantly. “You’re-”
“What?” he asked. “I don’t have clothes.”
“Yeah, I can see that!” I exclaimed, covering my eyes with one hand.
“It’s not like this is the first time you’ve seen me like this.”
“Even if,” I uttered, still covering my eyes.
