Boss, Your Ex-Wife is Unreachable Now! novel Chapter 244

“Who cares!” Juliette waved her hand dismissively, plopping herself down onto the round stool by the wooden table. Resting her chin on her palm, she grinned at Willow. “You’re a bona fide millionaire now—shouldn’t we do something to celebrate?”

“How would you like to celebrate?” Willow didn’t mind either way, and she slid onto the stool next to Juliette.

Juliette thought for a moment, her face serious. “Celebration usually means eating, drinking, having fun... but you’re not big on traveling, and let’s be honest, you’ve probably explored every corner of the country by now with your inspiration trips, right?”

Willow nodded in agreement, though the truth was, she could count the number of famous landmarks she’d visited on one hand—most of her ‘travel’ was just virtual tours online.

It wasn’t that she didn’t want to travel abroad. She just couldn’t.

Juliette started ticking off ideas on her fingers. “Okay, how about food? Your own cooking easily beats most chefs, and we’re always trying out new restaurants anyway. As for drinks, you’re not into alcohol, otherwise we could hit a bar and cut loose a little.”

Juliette was running out of ideas, her brow furrowed in thought.

Watching Juliette rack her brain so seriously, Willow suddenly remembered a line from an old love letter Juliette once showed her. With a smile, she said, “How about a shopping spree? Let’s pick a day, go out, and buy whatever catches our eye—no matter the brand, no checking the price tag. If you like it, just get it, no hesitation!”

Juliette blinked, the words ringing oddly familiar.

Back in middle school, she’d received a love letter from a rich kid in the next class over. He’d boasted that if she agreed to date him, she could buy whatever she wanted—no matter the brand, no looking at the price, just pick and pay!

But Juliette had already had a soft spot for Lionel by then, and not even that extravagant promise had tempted her.

Now, seeing the playful glint in Willow’s bright eyes, Juliette finally caught on.

Juliette shot back without hesitation, “Of course I do! You’ve got cash to spare now—I won’t feel bad for you.”

She’d been dying to drag Willow on a shopping spree for months, but her friend had been buried in her latest project. Now that Willow was finally free, Juliette was determined to seize the opportunity. Besides, Willow’s birthday was actually two weeks before hers, so she’d get to pick out a present for her best friend on their shopping day, too.

“Oh, by the way, Willa—on the way over, I noticed Officer Chase and that cute guy Waller kept glancing at you. But the handsome doctor? He didn’t even try to talk to you! Isn’t he supposed to be chasing after you?”

Now that it was just the two of them, Juliette lowered her voice conspiratorially—time for some best friend gossip.

Willow had known this was coming. She could only offer a vague, diplomatic answer about the complicated situation.
