Boss, Your Ex-Wife is Unreachable Now! novel Chapter 258

Juliette barely made it to lunch that day—work was nonstop, and the afternoon threatened to swallow what little break she had left.

It wasn’t just her schedule that was packed. Juliette had risen quickly at the firm: sharp, poised, and exceptionally capable, she’d only been with the company for two years but had already handled several high-stakes interpreting gigs, all of which she’d delivered flawlessly.

If her boss hadn’t been a woman, people might have whispered that Juliette had found some shortcut to those prime assignments. But with Mandy at the helm—a married, no-nonsense powerhouse—no one could credibly suggest any favoritism. After all, nobody was about to spin rumors about Mandy’s supposed interest in young female protégées.

By half past one, the last round of negotiations wrapped up. The contract was signed—successfully, and with little drama.

After seeing the clients out, Mandy returned to the conference room and addressed the team. “Great work today, everyone. I’ve booked a VIP suite at Silverton for tonight. Let’s all unwind together after work.”

A cheer went up around the room. “Thank you, Ms. Mandy!”

On her way out, Mandy paused beside Juliette, giving her a brisk pat on the shoulder. “Fantastic job with the simultaneous interpreting just now. Really well done.”

Juliette, busy gathering her notes, straightened up at once. “Thank you, Ms. Mandy. I’ll keep working hard.”

Mandy nodded approvingly before striding out in her heels, leaving the conference room abuzz.

A few colleagues who hadn’t left yet immediately clustered around Juliette, their voices full of admiration and a bit of envy. “Juliette, seriously, how many times has Ms. Mandy praised you like that?”

Abbey, who’d been at the company for eight years, raised her hand in mock oath. “Three times just this month! And I can swear—it’s never happened before.”

Juliette couldn’t help but smile at Abbey’s sincerity. “It was a team effort. If you all hadn’t helped organize those documents, there’s no way I could’ve done my part so smoothly.”

The guys exchanged a surprised look. “Wait, we can come too?”

“The more, the merrier,” Juliette laughed, sealing the deal.

By six o’clock that evening, the whole department—including Mandy—had gathered at Silverton. Nine of them in total: five men, four women.

Their VIP suite was decked out with everything they’d need to let loose. There was a lounge area with plush couches for drinks and conversation, a game zone stocked with cards and board games, and even a karaoke corner for anyone brave enough to grab the mic. It was exactly the kind of night the team needed—work hard, play harder.
