Boss, Your Ex-Wife is Unreachable Now! novel Chapter 299

When Klein got home, he found Willow already bustling around in the kitchen.

He carried the rest of the groceries in, set them on the counter, and grinned. “Let me handle this.”

Willow turned, smiling over her shoulder. “No need. I promised I’d help you tonight.”

But Klein wouldn’t take no for an answer. He strode over and gently took the chef’s knife from her hand. “I’ll do the chopping. Why don’t you wash some fruit for a snack?”

With her knife commandeered, Willow had no choice but to slip off her apron and head for the fruit bowl.

As she rinsed apples under the tap, she heard Klein call from behind, “Aren’t you curious what your old man and I talked about?”

Willow kept washing, barely glancing up. She smiled, casual and unconcerned. “I’m guessing you told him off and sent him packing.”

Klein looked over, studying his daughter. “You really don’t want to know?”

“If you don’t think it’s worth mentioning, then I don’t need to hear it,” she replied, her tone light.

Klein paused, then asked, “So you’ve completely given up on him?”

“Yeah,” Willow answered without hesitation.

“Well then, let’s not talk about him anymore.” Klein’s smile was gentle as he went back to his chopping. “Once you’ve finished with the fruit, go relax in the living room and eat. No need to stay in here with all this smoke and grease.”

Willow laughed, raising her hand in a salute. “Yes, sir.”

After washing the fruit, she carried the bowl into the living room. Her gaze drifted to her phone on the table. Pausing for a moment, she picked it up and opened WhatsApp.

Earlier, when her dad said he was going to have a word with Beasley, she’d worried Beasley might blurt out something about her mom’s heart condition, so she’d sent him a quick message to warn him.

As soon as she hit send, she’d gone to help in the kitchen.

Given that the man “needed something from her” at the moment, he’d probably do as she asked.

Rosamund read the message, a sly smile curling her lips, her eyes glinting with malice.

“I honestly didn’t think they’d actually split,” she typed back.

Evelyn’s texts rolled in one after another. “I saw it coming, Rosa! You just wouldn’t believe me!”

“She even blocked my number! Grandma tried calling her for months and she never picked up. There had to be something up.”

“Well, it’s done now. They’re divorced. Finally, the storm has passed!”

Rosamund snorted softly at her phone and replied, “But your brother’s keeping the divorce a secret. Maybe he regrets it. Maybe they’ll get back together.”

“No way! My brother wishes she’d disappear off the face of the earth. There’s no chance they’ll ever reconcile, trust me!” Evelyn’s next message was a voice note, her tone urgent and adamant.

Rosamund just sent another text: “Honestly, it’s not really my business. And I doubt your brother sees me that way.”
