Boss, Your Ex-Wife is Unreachable Now! novel Chapter 322

“Lucky for me, I came prepared. Allergic to alcohol, are you? Well then, be a good girl and drink this special fruit punch I made just for you.”

Hamlin’s voice chimed in, “Smart thinking, as always. She’s not getting away from us tonight, no matter what.”

Another girl’s voice joined in, teasing, “Looks like you’re getting lucky tonight, Hamlin—just make sure you don’t go too easy on her, alright?”

Willow recognized the voice; it belonged to the same girl who’d brought Zoe that dress earlier.

Actors, the whole lot of them.

Keeping her expression perfectly neutral, Willow listened closely as she changed.

The restroom had two stalls. The girl who’d come with her was in the next one, pretending to fix her makeup.

She called over, “So, how’s the dress? Does it fit?”

Willow replied, “Yeah, it fits really well.”

It might as well have been tailored for her.

Willow made a point of dawdling, taking her time inside the stall. The girl didn’t rush her, waiting patiently on the other side.

After ten minutes, Willow finally stepped out.

The girl’s eyes flickered with a flash of jealousy she couldn’t quite hide.

But as soon as Willow looked up, that envy vanished without a trace, replaced by a bright, polite smile.

“You look amazing in that dress,” the girl gushed.

Really, it was Willow’s beauty that set off any dress—on herself, it would only make her skin look even more sallow.

Willow gave a small, polite smile. “Thanks.”

By the time they returned to the table, a glass of fruit punch sat waiting.

Since Willow had claimed to be allergic to alcohol, it was only natural they'd prepared this for her.

Usually, Willow wouldn’t touch a drop of anything she hadn’t poured herself.

But tonight wasn’t just any night.

“Willa, since you can’t have alcohol, I ordered you some fruit punch. It’s not too sweet, I think you’ll like it,” Zoe said, giving the glass a little nudge toward her.

“W-who are you people?!” Hamlin stammered, face pale and knees nearly buckling.

Zoe kept her cool, thinking fast—she tried to knock over the glass, but Ryan got there first.

Worse, she still had something in her purse…

Panic rose inside Zoe; she could hardly believe what was happening.

“Police.” Ryan flashed his badge. “We received a report of illegal activity in this room. You’ll all need to come with us to the station for questioning.”

“We haven’t done anything! You must be mistaken!” Zoe said, digging her nails into her palm to steady herself.

“Yeah, we’re just here celebrating a friend’s birthday—is that a crime now?” Yara snapped.

Ryan fixed them with a cold, direct stare. “Whether a crime’s been committed or not, we’ll find out at the station.”

“You have no right to take us in without evidence. What law is that?” Zoe shot back, brow furrowed.

She couldn’t go to the station. If they took her in, there was no way out.
