Boss, Your Ex-Wife is Unreachable Now! novel Chapter 63

Head-hunting?

York froze for a moment.

But honestly, this was exactly Beasley's style—sharp business instincts and an uncanny drive to get things done, even back in their college days. Whether people in their circle were close friends or rivals, everyone respected him.

"But what about Rosa?…" That was the only thing York really cared about.

He'd pulled every string, organized a lavish press event, even had Beasley tap into his own network to round up celebrities and influencers, all to give Rosamund's return the perfect launchpad—a big, dazzling splash.

Instead, everything backfired. A video exposing Emmett's hypocrisy stole all the attention, the film was forced into recasting and indefinite delays, and now the whole project was drowning in scandal and bad press.

What a mess.

How aggravating.

"Don't worry about the movie." Beasley's voice was as cool and unhurried as ever, swirling his wine with deliberate ease.

"You've got a plan?" York perked up instantly, his tired eyes lighting up with hope. "Don't keep me in suspense—spill it!"

Beasley did have an idea—risky, sure, but if it worked, the payoff would be enormous.

"A two-pronged approach: launch a primetime TV series and a theatrical film adaptation simultaneously. Parallel publicity, parallel production, parallel release."

That was his solution.

York stared for a second, then caught on fast. "You want the series and the film to compete head-to-head? And cast the series using that fan wishlist from STAR'sTwitter?"

Was that even possible?

Bold—and definitely exciting.

Beasley nodded, his icy eyes glinting with lazy calculation. "The film crew got dragged into this mess, but once STAR posted that Twitter thread, it just fanned the flames and extended the story's shelf life. So why not use the momentum? Give the public exactly what they want—a cast line-up straight from their own wish list—and shift the conversation entirely."

York listened, and the more he thought about it, the more it made sense. "Yeah, just the fact that we're willing to use that list for a TV series will blow up the discussion. From now on, whenever anyone brings up Sudden Dawn, the debate will focus on comparing the two casts and the different adaptations. There'll be tons more for people to talk about. They'll finally move on from harping about Emmett's scandal."

Beasley could tell York was convinced, so he leaned back, delegating as usual. "Then this is your show now. Handle it."

"Come on, man. You can't work all the time. Friendships need time and effort, too—you have to nurture them, or the boat tips over."

Beasley didn't even flinch. "I make the money, you keep the friendships afloat. That's called teamwork. Get it?"

York: "…"

Sometimes he really wondered if Beasley had ever truly let go of Rosamund.

If he had, then why did he always go out of his way to keep his distance whenever she was involved?

Was there something he'd figured out?

York's heart skipped a beat.

He'd told Beasley time and again—he and Rosamund were nothing but childhood friends, not a hint of romance between them.

But Beasley was never easy to fool. York knew that all too well.
