Boss, Your Ex-Wife is Unreachable Now! novel Chapter 95

The conversation shifted back to the table read for the film earlier that morning. Rosamund, visibly moved, said, "It really comes down to how brilliant the original novel is. Even Alex couldn't stop singing its praises after reading it. He said it's an honor just to be part of this film. York, I have high hopes for this project."

Alex—whose real name was Gregory Frost—was the mixed-race actor Rosamund had flown in from abroad at the last minute. He'd also starred as the leading man in the film that had won her that major award.

York knew exactly how much this film meant to Rosamund. That's why he handled every detail himself, no matter how small. He'd even shown up at the table read just to show his support.

"STAR's not just talented—she's got luck on her side, too," York said, echoing Rosamund's optimism. "With your skill and STAR's genius, plus a little luck, this movie is destined to be a hit."

Rosamund smiled, eyes glinting. "You really have that much faith in me?"

"Of course," York replied without hesitation. "Even if you don't believe me, you should trust Beasley's judgment. He's the biggest backer of this film, after all."

Rosamund's smile deepened. Ten million dollars—Beasley had poured an absolute fortune into the project. "I'll do everything I can," she said quietly, "I won't let you down."

She had no doubt this movie would be a smash success. After all, it was her second time playing this role—her performance could only get better, and she was sure the director would be blown away.

Rosamund was confident. Still, she made sure not to show it too much in front of York. If she seemed completely unruffled, he'd never worry about her.

York didn't linger in Rosamund's room for long. It was her private space, and even though her manager and assistant were there, he knew better than to overstay his welcome. He had to keep things appropriate, to avoid stirring up gossip about the two of them.

As the film's main investor, he also stopped by to check in on the other lead actors and the director, making sure no rumors would have a chance to start.

A little after noon, Willow left the hospital feeling emotionally drained.

Following a series of tests and psychological evaluations that morning, the doctor concluded she was suffering from panic anxiety disorder—triggered by unresolved traumatic memories.

He recommended cognitive behavioral therapy and exposure therapy. In simple terms, she needed to confront the source of her fear, gradually get used to it, and realize that what she expected wasn't nearly as bad as what actually happened. Over time, this would help her become less sensitive and reactive.

Other men were tolerable—she could get close enough to them, fake her way through, hide her anxiety so they wouldn't notice anything off.

But with Beasley, it was a miracle if she didn't throw up just being in the same room.

What was she supposed to do? She just couldn't do it. Every part of her, body and soul, rebelled against the doctor's advice.

Willow felt like a balloon with all the air let out, slumping into her beanbag chair in utter exhaustion.

She hadn't slept at all the night before. All she wanted now was to hide from the source of her nightmares, not go looking for more trouble.

Maybe she could lay low at the base for a while.

Give it a month, see how things went. Maurice was always pestering her to work overtime with him anyway.
