Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 184

Giselle walked out of the hospital room just as Gideon finished his cigarette and came up to her.

"I want to go home now. There's no point in getting hospitalized," Giselle said.

"Sure. Let's go," Gideon replied. Since she seemed to have fully recovered, Gideon respected her decision and personally drove her home.

"About what happened tonight… Do you want to report it to the police?" Gideon asked while driving.

Sitting in the front passenger seat, Giselle shook her head weakly. "No need. I don't want to waste police resources. I'm tired of going to the police station every other day."

"Are you just going to let it go?" Gideon recalled how the cold storage door had been locked from the outside when he arrived. He had instantly figured someone was trying to murder Giselle.

Giselle let out a cold laugh. "Yeah, let it go. I already know who the culprit is. No need for the police to get involved."

"You know who it is?"

"Yes," Giselle replied.

Since Gideon had just saved her life, she no longer felt the need to hide anything from him. So, she revealed the grudges she held against her birth family.

"My half-sister was the one who locked me in the cold storage room tonight," Giselle explained with a sneer. "Even if I reported her, her mother would easily find a way to get her off the hook. No point wasting time and energy."

Upon hearing how many times her life had been put in danger by her stepmother and half-sister, Gideon felt a heaviness settle in his chest. He gradually slowed down the car.
