Giselle was back at her place.
After she kicked Donovan out of her apartment, she wanted to ask Joanne to leave as well.
However, the latter was hardworking, clever and respected her boundaries. Additionally, her cooking was to her liking, and she was able to help her take care of her dog as well.
Joanne was far better at her job than any of Giselle's previous housekeepers. Giselle couldn't bring herself to part with such a capable housekeeper. So, she decided to let her stay for the time being.
Giselle rarely had time to do any housework. Plus, it wasn't healthy for her to constantly dine out at restaurants as well. With such a brilliant housekeeper to help her out, she was able to greatly improve her quality of life.
This morning, Joanne walked the dog and stopped by the store for some groceries. While she was out, Giselle slept in until she woke up naturally.
After she got out of bed, she decided to wash up and head to her clinic. However, right after she'd washed up and got changed, she heard the doorbell ring.
She opened the door and found a tall and familiar man standing before her. The man in question was none other than Gideon Grayson.
Giselle stared at his weary face and was slightly taken aback.
"What are you doing here?" she asked.
She didn't think it was necessary to speak to him face-to-face anymore. So, she proceeded to shut the door immediately. But to her dismay, Gideon forcefully pushed her door open and walked into her apartment.
"How have you been, Giselle?" he asked in a hoarse voice.
His eyes were sunken in, and he looked like he hadn't shaved his face in days. It was evident that he hadn't been taking care of himself or resting well. He looked mentally exhausted as well.
