Kirby’s POV

By evening I pulled the flashy car up beneath the Rogue Pack headquarters; the engine’s low growl seemed to announce my arrival.
It was Malach’s idea–be loud, be obvious. Leslie was a showy one; I had to match her.
I leaned against the door, letting my mint pheromone spread. Staff passing by stole glances and whispered about my relationship with Leslie. Hearing them stoked a heat in my chest and made my
mouth tilt up.
“Kirby really wants to get back together with Leslie, huh?” a voice drifted over.
“He can’t just have his way–Leslie hasn’t been marked. Guys who waited downstairs yesterday were all chased off, weren’t they?” another answered.
Several? the words doused me in cold water. I stiffened and my face went hard.
Several? Who else would dare pursue her? Lance’s voice screamed in my head. Tear them apart!
My mint pheromone surged hotter. I’d thought Adler was back in the East, so I had no rivals— turns out she’d simply found someone else.
As I fumed, the Rogue Pack doors opened and Leslie stepped out.
She was in a black knee–length strapless gown, a pearl necklace catching the lights, a white coat tossed over her shoulders–radiant and dazzling enough to stop my heart.
She’s not coming toward us, Lance murmured.
Liam followed behind her carrying her bag, but instead of heading my way they moved to the side. A loud red sports car was parked nearby like a silent provocation.
My gaze darkened; my fist clenched. Had they planned this? My face froze like ice as I strode forward.
Whoever dares to take her from you–rip him apart! Lance roared.
I was going to find out who had the gall to steal my mate in front of the Crimson Moon Alpha.
Leslie’s POV
Liam opened the Maybach’s rear door for me. Eren was already inside, brimming with the small–guardian look, his eyes shining.

I bent down and put a foot on the step, when a large hand suddenly grabbed my arm and yanked me back.
The mint pheromone hit like northern wind; I didn’t need to look up to know who it was.
“Kirby,” I said coolly, my resin pheromone slipping out with Rogue Pack authority.
Liam froze, ready to intervene, then hesitated when he saw the storm in Kirby’s face.
Kirby didn’t care; he wrapped me tight, a domineering claim. His stare was ice, his voice a warning wrapped in amusement. “Wasn’t I supposed to pick you up? Who dared take you away?”
He didn’t shout, but his cold arrogance poured from his pheromone and made the air heavy.
This dog of a man is everywhere, Asphodel sneered in my head.
I didn’t struggle; instead I forced a mocking smile.
He looked at me with a flash of something like wounded pride. We were too close–his breath heavy, mint strong enough to make me flinch.
He dipped as if to kiss me, eyes burning as if to swallow me whole.
I turned my face slightly, letting Rogue Pack authority press back. Dream on.
Kirby’s eyes whipped into a storm; his pheromone surged. He grabbed my chin and tried to kiss me–like a wolf out of control.
He’s gone mad–kick him! Asphodel snarled.
At that moment the car door opened and a cold, mocking voice cut through: “Kirby, you even touch my people?”
Kirby’s breath snapped. He turned toward the voice like a snarling wolf.
Looks like a show’s about to begin! Asphodel’s eyes widened.
