Elder Yesa was trembling in fear, she didn’t dare to raise her head, or even look at the alpha’s shoes.
But, Maximus grabbed a handful of her hair and lifted her head, so he could see her expression. “So? You didn’t even think to reject the idea and go on with his whim?”
“I- I am sorry… I- I tried to tell him…”
“You don’t try hard enough.” Maximus then wrapped his fingers around her neck, and crushed her windpipe before she could utter a single word of apology again.
