Chapter 34
“Accidentally hit a mirror?” Lula raised he head to look at Rania. What kind of answer was that? But, she didn’t chase the matter further, as she healed her hand.
While she was doing that, se realized something. She couldn’t feel her wolf spirit.
“My lady, I think this question will be offensive, but do you mind to tell me why I don’t feel your wolf spirit” Lula tried to phrase her words carefully.
Rania pressed her lips, she thought not to answer her question, and Lula also had the same thought, so she didn’t pursue, but then Rania changed her mind, and told her in the short version.
“Shifting for the first time is a very sensitive moment for a shifter” Lula looked at Kania sympathetically. “I am sorry, you have to go through that.”
“Don’t be.” Rania didn’t want her to pity her because it was uncomfortable, so she avoided her gaze.
The rest of it, they spent the time in silence, until Lula was done with her wound, and her hand was bandaged tightly. The healer warned her not to let her wound wet, and come back tomorrow to change the bandage.
“Or do you want me to come to your bedroom, my lady?” Lula suggested.
“No, it’s okay. I will come here.” She needed to stretch out her body some time. “I will clean the blood.”
Rania stood up. She wanted to ask where she could get a cloth to wipe the blood from the floor. Her blood must have trailed down from her bedroom to here.
“No, you don’t need to do that, an omega would do it.” Lula reassured her. She then tried to distract Rania with the question about her taste buds. “I will try to help you with it.”
“There is no need. I am fine with it.” Rania didn’t really care whether she could taste anything anymore or not. She only ate because she had to. It didn’t matter with the taste. “You don’t need to bother.”
“Of course, I need to care about that.” Lula then called one of the omegas to clean up the blood inside the infirmary, while the other omegas had cleaned up the mess in the corridor when they saw it. “Come here, lay down. I will check on you.”
Rania didn’t want to do that, but Lula insisted, she wouldn’t let her go without checking on her, thus she didn’t have other choice.

“I still can’t stomach this sight. How could you do it?” Declan blanched. He was on the verge of vomiting when he watched Maximus fed their wolves with ‘meat‘
“Why not?” Maximus chuckled darkly. He washed his bloody hands under the running water, and then looked at Declan with amusement danced in his eyes.
They were in the forest behind the palace, where they raised hundred of wolves. These wolves were wild animal, in the mountain that was the border between their kingdom and the Barlukan kingdom.

Their warriors couldn’t go through the mountain because the terrain was not possible for them to go through, not to mention there were hundred of wild wolves that would attack them.
Those wolves would only listen to the king, and some time, most of the time than not, Maximus would feed them with human flesh.
Yes, Maximus would feed them with the flesh of the traitors, those people, who disobeyed him, or anyone that the king deemed to be killed.
And recently, they got a few names within their rank. The people, who worked for the Barlukan kingdom. Their fates were obvious.
Even in their death, they couldn’t get their body attached, as hundred of wolves ate what remained of them.
