“I will not do such thing,” Maximus hissed angrily, but Eiten only stared at him, as if he was talking in different language.
“Let’s be honest with each other,” Ethan said, as he sighed deeply. “We know what’s going to happen, if I didn’t come to you first like this and explain the situation, even though deep down you know very well, that everything was only in your head.”
Eiten was talking about Maximus worse assumption about what he had done, or what they were doing when they went outside.
“Fine. Now you can leave. I want to talk with her.”
Eiten gave him a suspicious look. He was not convinced that Maximus wouldn’t do anything drastic, especially after what he pulled last time, but then what else he could do? It was not like he could stop him from seeing his own mate.
“Don’t be a dick, Max. We both agreed there was something more into the story.” They agreed on this, but Declan was another story, the royal beta still believed Rania was bad news.
Maximus was not really happy with the reminder. “I know what I am doing.”
“I don’t think so,” Eiten mumbled, but then he immediately rushed out of the room, out of Maximus’s reach because his comment pissed him off, and he didn’t want Rania to meet him when he was annoyed because of
him.
And once Eiten was outside, he saw Rania looked very tense. She opened her mouth, wanted to ask about something, but then closed them again. She looked distress. By now, she must have known that Maximus was inside, and he was waiting for her.
“I don’t want to go inside,” Rania said in a small voice. If Eiten was not a shifter, he might miss what she said.
“Don’t worry, he is tamed now. He will be fine.”
Rania gave him a look that told him that she didn’t believe him at all. Well, to be fair, Eiten didn’t believe what Maximus said either that he would be nice to Rania.
“It’s okay, he is only worry about you, and annoyed because I didn’t take him as well.” Eiten tried to sound light in this information, as he patted her shoulder, but Rania still was not convinced. “Go inside, and enjoy your new dress.”
Rania seemed contemplating to run away, but quickly realized that was not an option.
“It’s okay. Trust me.” Eiten patted her shoulder, and Rania flinched.
She remembered the last time Maximus smelled Eiten’s scent on her, he lashed out and accused her something horrible. Even though, by now, it was already so late, since Eiten’s scent was all over her, because they went out together for a whole day.
“Go inside, you will be fine, trust me.”
“I don’t trust anyone.” Rania didn’t say it because she hated him, but she said it because that was what she felt. She had no one to trust to for years, therefore giving her trust to someone was something she found hard to do.
“You will be fine.”
Rania then entered the room, two warriors came with her too to put down her new dress. There were several shopping bags. Twenty at least.
Inside the room, Rania saw Maximus was sitting on the edge of the bed, he stood up when she came inside, and Rania found herself unable to move. She squatted down, pretending to check the shopping bags.
“Have you had fun today?” Maximus asked, he stood behind Rania, and she felt her back was so hot, the tension in the room became thicker when he moved closer to her.

“Come on, try this one. I want to see you in them.” Maximus pulled out a red dress, which looked very extravagant for her taste. He was sure this was Eiten’s doing, since this kind of bold color wouldn’t be something that Rania picked up.
