Dear Brother You Picked the Wrong Sister to Betray novel Chapter 65

Chapter 4

After hesitating a moment, I finally clicked on the video.

You could tell it was security footage from our conference room.

Three people total in the room:

Damon, Sage, and the HR director.

Even though the surveillance video had no audio, I recognized the paper in Damon’s hand.

It was the resignation form I’d submitted that afternoon.

At the start of the video, the male HR director looked terrified, like he was about to cry, bowing repeatedly while explaining something.

But Damon just kept staring down at the resignation letter, not even glancing at him.

After three minutes and forty seconds, Damon casually waved his hand without changing position. The HR director looked relieved as he bowed and left.

Sage, who’d been standing behind him looking pissed this whole time, forced a sweet smile.

The message must’ve been long.

Otherwise he wouldn’t have stood there motionless for several minutes.

violent outburst scared her so much she twisted her ankle and fell.

The screen exploded in sparks and shattered into pieces.

Sage was crying, looking absolutely terrified.

Damon turned toward

The video cut off there.

I didn’t need to see the rest to know Damon would help Sage up.

Then he’d apologize gently, feeling guilty and spoiling her even more.

I exited the video and sent my colleague a goodbye message.

Even though we couldn’t work together anymore, I still hoped she’d keep climbing the ladder and crushing it.

On my fourth day home, with Mom and Dad taking such good care of me, I was glowing enough to meet up with my two high school best friends.

They kept pestering me about which spa I’d gotten work done at.

Chapter 4

After joking around for a while, my phone rang.

Unknown number.

I’d only had this new number for two days, so it was probably just some annoying telemarketer. I didn’t think twice about declining the call.

That evening, not long after getting home, our doorbell rang.

I’d ordered bubble tea for delivery, so without thinking I opened the door:
