Delete My Love for You novel Chapter 135

She actually dared to say she didn’t know him?

Darren’s chest rose and fell sharply, rage burning inside him.

Bradley caught the tension immediately and stood up with practiced calm. “Mr. Harrington, since you have private matters to discuss, I’ll take my leave. Let’s catch up another time.”

He turned to Charlotte, his eyes lingering meaningfully on the business card in her hand.

“Ms. Lee, I hope you’ll consider my proposal. Reach out to me anytime.”

Charlotte nodded, her voice tinged with disappointment. “Alright…”

Bradley paid the bill before leaving, his entourage of security detail trailing behind him as they disappeared through the restaurant doors. With a sudden slam, Darren shut the private room’s door, his expression dark as a thundercloud.

“What exactly did you talk about with him?”

“We discussed how to bring down the Harrington Group,” Charlotte shot back, the words laced with spite. Darren had ruined the meeting she’d looked forward to, and she made no effort to hide her irritation.

“You—!”

He knew it was just a jab, but the anger in Darren’s chest flared hotter. “Charlotte, I don’t want you having any further contact with Bradley!”

Before she could respond, he snatched the card from her hand and tore it to pieces right in front of her.

She let out a cold laugh. “Tear it up all you want. I have a photographic memory, Darren—a phone number’s nothing to me.”

Hearing those words, Darren’s gaze grew suddenly thoughtful. Just earlier, during the competition, she’d rattled even the quizmaster, Charles. Her abilities were real—there was no denying it.

He looked her up and down, his tone laced with implication. “You’re not that smart. You barely finished grade school, and yet you’ve somehow become a jack-of-all-trades these past few years. Don’t tell me you did it all just to get into the Harrington Group, just to get close to me?”

Grade school diploma, huh…

She’d been teaching university professors when she was fifteen, yet he still belittled her education every chance he got.

Maybe, in his eyes, she was only ever good for washing his shirts and cooking his dinners—a glorified housekeeper.

Charlotte couldn’t be bothered to argue anymore. She reached for Ryan’s hand, ready to leave.

But Darren caught her wrist.

His fingers locked suddenly around hers—skin pressed against skin, heat sparking where they touched.
