Delete My Love for You novel Chapter 163

Charlotte called out, “Darling,” not out of affection, but to make things perfectly clear for Darren.

She wanted him to face reality: there was nothing between them anymore, and it was time for him to stop lingering in her hospital room.

What she hadn’t expected was for Darren to actually respond.

Why was he looking at her? She certainly hadn’t been calling him.

With a deliberate turn, Charlotte shifted her gaze away from Darren and looked straight at Bradley. Her voice, still hoarse from illness, was soft but unmistakable: “Darling, are those roses for me?”

This time, there was no room for misunderstanding—she was talking to Bradley.

Darren’s expression darkened instantly.

He could only watch as Bradley strode to Charlotte’s bedside, placed the vibrant bouquet gently on her nightstand, and brushed a strand of hair from her brow. “Of course they’re for you,” he said warmly.

Darren looked as if he might explode.

Xena, noticing the tension, realized with a start—he was jealous. Jealous over Charlotte!

She pouted, putting on her most fragile voice. “Darren, my head still hurts…”

He tore his eyes from Charlotte and went to Xena’s bedside, taking a seat. He barely noticed Xena reaching for his hand; his attention remained fixed on the conversation happening just a few feet away.

Bradley’s voice drifted over, calm and assured. “My private jet is ready to go at any time. If you’d like, I have a medical team back in Avalor who could help you recover much faster.”

Charlotte frowned slightly.

Avalor?

She knew perfectly well what Bradley was after. It wasn’t so much her health he cared about, but her mind—he wanted her working for the Fairchild family as soon as possible.

Yet, given the state of her body, it was anyone’s guess whether she’d survive long enough to be of any use.

She didn’t want Bradley to waste his efforts on her, only to be left empty-handed in the end.

But before Charlotte could refuse, a cold voice cut through the air: “Who said she’s leaving?”

Bradley remained polite. “Mr. Harrington, I appreciate your concern for the research credentials. You’re a busy man; I think it’s best if you leave matters between my wife and me to ourselves.”
